I still wonder if PML honours the "international warranty" as said by Looi's?

and oh

i've been silently stalking this thread.. reading with intent..

:smile::smile:

We welcome all, lurkers etc .... eyeball the "international warranty" and read it, that is the best. Make sure that the dealer put down what they say on paper, that is the best level of commitment that they can show. Call Kris at PML and ask him; heck it may even make them revise their offer to you.

Now it is buyers' market, difficult as it may seem, take your time.

Cheers

Hi Cat..

Its not that I dun wanna buy from PML,

But circumstances dun allow me to do so..

:cheeky:

I gotta trade in my suzy 600 k7..

any chance that the adventure will be coming out a newer model..

i dun wanna get the latest one, then only to know, BMW has made a newer adventure..

hi, educate me here, doesn't private sale always bring in a better price than trading it in? I thought that that is always the case otherwise the bike shop cannot turn a profit.

one more thing ....There will always be a later bike after you buy yours :)

good luck,

Also, the owners need to double as QC inspectors and test riders for the initial batch of the new models until the manufacturer caught the bugs

hi guys..

just a query..

i was offerd by looi's a GS adv..

i',m looking at that bike as my next one..

he claimed that, even as parallel importer, if bought from them, there will be an international warranty of 1 year..

so if any thing wrong, can just go to them. Even if there is a recall of some parts, they will honour the international warranty..

is it true..?

I was in the same situation before. I went to Looi's and was told that i can choose whether i want a agent or parallel machine. I agreed with you the convenience sake of getting off your existing bike.

However after calculating my sum, I realized that the savings was actually minimal. You need to take in account, the loan % interests (if any) of PML vs Looi's, the whatever processing fee bla bla bla.

And, Most important of all, you need to have 100% confidence of the warranty validity. Why take the "risk" on your 45k?

Not sure if it is any indication of Comfort for the GS as i never owned one for the GS.

But i used to have a pair of sargents for my Fazer, my wife and i loved the comfort it offered. Long journeys became a joy rather then the buzz numbing experiences the soft stock seat offered (not much support).

I have a corbin on dad's Gen1 fazer and in terms of firmness it is definately a lot harder than the Sargents. Too hard for my liking.....

In terms of comfort.... stock is softest...followed by Sargent...... and the hardest imho is the corbin.

The stock GSA seat on mine seems a fair seat and would let it run in a bit more before deciding if i should shoot for the Sargent.

Finally got my a55 on the Sargent Low.

It is way better than the stock. Firm enough while providing the rear support which the stock lacking of. Thanks for the recommendation

Hi cat,

true to what u say..

private sale always bring in a better price

there is some history on my bike.

Looi's offered me 13k, off hand, without even looking at my bike..

so its like a "good" deal.

hmm..

maybe go for surgery first then can decide..

Thanks all

Great to know. I am sure you'll enjoy and find more excuses to put on more mileage on the Sargent!!

I know i will probably love a Sargent when the opportunity arises.:thumb:

hi wacko,

if you have decided to buy from Loois, maybe you want to explore this:

Take a loan from Loois to buy a basic PML machine then add the aftermarket accessories later.

That way you still get to sell your present bike and Loois still get to earn your $$.

iirc, PML warranty is 2 years.

ah leong always say ... dunno? dont do!

How did the BBQ went?

Quite good, bikes were impressive, good turn out. Met a few of you guys (you know who you are :) ) and food was good too. All in all not a bad outing. Must drop PML a thank you note. :)

If anyone from PML is lurking here, ... thanks loads.

On a separate note, I tried the MFM's maps last night; not bad, very easy to load compared with how I did the MSM's maps (or am I getting better at this?). But I think that MSM has a better map for Singapore for Nuvi models, since they work with Garmin for the map.

Will try out the map this weekend if I am heading north.

Cheers

I really like the F650GS. However, a boxer is not much more expensive than a F650GS when I was hunting for a bike. How are prices now?

I am impressed by the underseat fuel tank. It shares the same signals as the old Ducati monsters ..... see, start rambling already. Forgive me.

For some reason PITA does not like the F650GS, something about the radiator.

Thanks, hope that your steed will be up and running soon and we can go together. Your comment also got me pondering ..........

I've been riding more recently because I'm not getting younger and I think it is better for me to do my riding while my body is still relatively adaptable and stamina is better. I understand that many of my friends want to go with me but have commitments. My take on this is that time for anything or activity (not just riding) is that of allocation of priority. To give an example, most of us do not want to go visit an aunt or uncle, but if that person is admitted to hospital, then we will make time. Of course in making time for riding one cannot have unhappiness elsewhere, kinda like defeat the purpose of riding, right? :)

Seriously, the recent demise of some people I know also made me realised that the only thing that we can take away with us when we depart from this world is the experiences that we accumulate during our life. I regretted not riding with a friend of mine who passed away, he would often called me for rides and I did not make time for him, thinking that there will always be another ride.

Well, I enjoy a good ride, plugged in to music, just me and my steed. The destination is a place to rest and explore. When I hang up my gloves, at least I can say, well, been there, done that. Malaysia can be a fantastic country, I love pouring over my maps and looking at locations and wondering what is there.

Sorry if I am rambling. .... Ride safe, fellas.

Cheers

Bro coolcat,

Totally agree with you on this!!

ONe can make time... due to individuals' priorities it is just a matter of prioritising and checking off stuff to do. Just a matter of want or dun want..... nothing wrong with either as long as you can live with it.

yeah i second on the chalking up as much experience when we are alive thingy.i used to ride daytrips alone upnorth past couple of yrs.i have day offs a week and i was into riding.kissed the wifey goodbye in the mornin and head for the customs.riding is one way for me to briefly forget my personal and domestic troubles.personally i find it wiser to ride in twos or bigger for the safety sake but my biker frens have turned drivers. it's all in how we plan our schedule not unlike going for a weekend drive to m'sia with loved ones.maybe one day we can all do a day trip
