I really like the F650GS. However, a boxer is not much more expensive than a F650GS when I was hunting for a bike. How are prices now?

I am impressed by the underseat fuel tank. It shares the same signals as the old Ducati monsters ..... see, start rambling already. Forgive me.

For some reason PITA does not like the F650GS, something about the radiator.

Cheers,

Cat

u mean, same electrical parts as the duke?

didnt noe that...

wats PITA? (not some bread, i hope)

price varies alot... coz it deps on how tricked up. i wldnt even bother to state a range. its too wide.. but someone did post up 2x 650 on sale..

if u dont mind, chain-driven and the tad lower power-to-weight ratio

Nowhere, sadly. Some work came in late on Friday and *poof* went my weekend.

Tested out the MFM map nonetheless. Seems to have some issues that i have to investigate further. Will update you guys.

Yes, day trip is a good idea. Up to now never see brother Phang's steed yet. He very enticing, take pics of this shiny part here, there but not whole thing ... worst than striptease. :)

You smelt your fly-screen? Phang, you have raised beemer perversion to a new level. Hey, you have a low exhaust, can go for a full-sized left pannier :)

I almost wanted to lick the screen…

Yes, my bike came with a lowered muffler AND a full size left pannier. (and the right bag of course)

I never ride the bike with bags on since I took over it.

I ignored the previous owner (Bro Paithorn) advice and went inspection without the bags..

Inspector: What is BMW's country of manufacturing?

Ah Phang: Germany lor…

Inspector grabbed a torch light while Ah Phang squat down together with him…

Inspector: What is this har?

Ah Phang: Made in Australia…

Inspector mumbling :….sports bike always modify… now BMW also want to modify…

Ah Phang: ……

Inspector keep on mumbling while the dot matrix printer printing the inspection certificate….

Ah Phang: pheeeww…..

Inspector: you better do something, TP will fine you $500 if you get caught…

Ah Phang: thank you thank you…

good one....

reminds me of my days with the tiger, with staintunes on it.

the saving grace on my part was that the heat shields covered the staintune logos....

unfortunately with increasing numbers of triumphs on the road, they have gotten smarted and recently the current owner of the machined was questioned when he went for inspection.

Hi guys

I am looking for reflective stickers for my panniers. The sort that would reflect light at night, but remain discreet in the day. Not being so particular about it, I guess i am fine too with those little arrows (yellow in colour?) that are reflective too.

On another note, where can i actually purchase this kind of decorative stickers shown below?

http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv216/bedsheet/12ADV_pannier.jpg

This is can be cut by the local sticker shop like 219 if you so desire. It can also be bought of Advrider.com as there seems to be a "vendor" who does these and at a cost. They are pretty expensive imho. They can be normal vinyl or 3M reflective.

http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv216/bedsheet/TopCaseArrows.jpg

And also this sticker, arrows. Can be bought anywhere? Ubi?

I suggest that you can DIY the stripes by buying a couple of refletive 3M, A4 sheets from sticker shops (can be found in Ubi just beside TP). Try tracing and cut out the simple designs you so desire.

Good luck and have fun!

Seeking your advice here

Is it worth gettin a 10yr FN plate BMW RT at 10K with a mileage over 100K?

I gather feedback from previous BMW owner

Most common to breakdown first

1: Suspension due to the bike weight

2: Some owner Claimed RT1100 RIMS break easily. Is this true?

3: The Radio is 50 50.

Dude, welcome to our little corner.

The price depends on what you are getting. BMW bikes are ok even with old and high mileage so long as there is a healthy service and maintenance record. I would expect at 100K mileage that the clutch had been changed, hall sensor (at least a couple of times), suspension (shocks are tired?), driveshaft. Watch out for frayed wiring, rust on the frame etc.

It is not just the RT that has soft rims, the Rs also has them, the GS fare better with spokes. Scout around, 10K is a good budget for a 2nd COE beemer. Take your time, and good luck. Do you want a BMW or a BMW RT? ask yourself that. :)

Cheers

Frankly Bro

I want the BMW GS 1150 Adventure.. but it is way off my league and pocket. So i take my 2nd fave which is the RT..

I am hopin the RT the radio and the windscreen is work. If it it doesnt.. i dunno it is a good deal or not.

The sensor part.. i not sure.. The service maintence.. i havent take a look at it. Hopefully i can get the bike to be on the road more than at the workshop..

Nvr own a COE bike before especially for a class 2. I wonder how much will the road tax be... muauaahha.

Let hope the insurance is cheaper!

A search helps on SBF.... bikes are constantly put up for sale. There is no hurry.

Check out BMW Motorcycle Club (Singapore)

They periodically have bikes for sale. You could also post a WTB listing. I believe they are free (the listing).

Good luck on your purchase and shopping!!

My fren is selling his R1100RT, nothing needs to be done; new COE I think. Give him a call at 96269241. He flies in and out of town, with luck he is in town.

Do not rule out the R1100R, it has really nice lines. $10K is a great budget for a R1100X, so shop around. You can also post a wanted ad and hopefully it brings something.

Wanted to go to my usual money changer in Orchard to change some money. But heavy traffic there so detoured to Great World City. Saw signs posted outside their underground carparks say no parking to motorcycles because of steep slope (what crap!).

While going round looking for place to park, saw at the hotel next to it rows of cars parking on double yellow lines. 2 bikes were park at the pedestrian walk, so decided to take a risk and park next to the bike. Change $ came back in less than 10 mins saw one guy in white standing next to my bike. Heart drop.

Ran to him but he said sorry, already key in bike number, cannot cancel. *$%

Somehow the 2 bikes have gone. But all the cars on double yellow lines he didn't touch but came straight for my bike. *$%

Didn't occur to me then but cannot cancel once key in no. is probably their standard excuse. What if he keyed something wrongly? Cannot change or cancel meh?

I have been very careful about roadside parking and haven't got ticket for about 2 years already. But once let guard down got caught by these money-sucking swindlers. *$%

An expensive mistake. Keep your guards up, guys.
