Thanks for the insight, guys! I'll go check out what loois can offer for GSA and compare it with PML before deciding.

Hi Seventh son, my opinion is if the price is not so much different then it's better to go pml. Nowadays BMW bikes come with too much electronics. I you buy a PI bike and you need PML to service, they will make you pay S$5k for a one time fees. I cant remember what they call that. More to that they make you pay 20% more for every service you go to them. So I think not worth going for PI.

1991 - 1992 = Yamaha RD125LC YPVS

1992 - 1993 = Suzuki GSXR 400 K

1993 - 1994 = Yamaha Vmax1200

1994 - 1995 = Honda Magna 750

1997 - 2002 = Honda ST11 Pan European

2002 - 2010 = BMW R1150GS

2010 - ------ = BMW R1200GS

Yup! Likely I'll go for PML GSA. Not worth the trouble at all buying from Loois. If I am getting a BMW that is.... damn those Ducatis are calling my name!!! Decisions... decisions...

It is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument.

Hi guys, new here...btw talking bout pml n PI. i just bought an 800gs from loois at pml's machine price. Saved probably about 4 to 5k the least. When u guys were talking bout options, what were u guys refering to? Mine came with OBC, ABS offable & heated grips, all of which is stated as OE or optional extras in the manual. Manual, spare key, tool kit, helmet, raincoat & helmet as standard hahaha...unfortunately they ran out of the 30 years anniversary edition :sigh: which comes with tinted windshield, oem handguards, enduro bash plate, red embossed GS seat & 30 years decal set. Servicing as per manual...1k 2k 3k free just pay for oil filter & they reset the service reminder for u & set ur preferred service mileage eg. 5k for me. Every service they check for any fault codes ( yes they have the software ) even down to the spokes n what not. Claims to have towing all the way to

Thailand so yeah. Leaned towards PI coz a few of my frens got their xt660z thru loois & looks ok so far. Spare parts can also be ordered through them and as with pml, you gotta wait for it. And did i mentioned the ridiculously cheap 1st party insurance?? Haha. But to each his own i guess. Never really gave thought bout resale value when i bought it & didn't wanna pay a hundred over for 3 bottles of engine oil n oil filter. Just relating my experience so there you have it...its good to buy from pml if u have the extra 4-5k but getting PI dont look too bad to me (so far) just my 2 sen....

I think maybe you over-estimate your savings but if you happy then that's all that matters. They are a great bike and Looi's service is fine. Resale is your only issue and if you don't mind then it don't matter :) - Think the only difference on options is the heated grips.

...too many to list

Yeah..like i said, to each his own. Nothing beats buying one at pml of course but as long as i'm happy right :) If u factor in COE, ARF, roadtax & insurance i think it adds up to abt 4k on top of the 29k machine price which also happens to be my otr price as for the insurance thingy, for a 27 year old comprehensive cover (1st party) for under 1k i think is cheap...so yeah. True, nothing to do with bike shop but i think they pointed in the right direction thats all. Happy riding fellow beemers riders! Great bikes....

hi fellow beemers

i was wondering why there is no trade in of Beemers @ PML?any inputs to enlighten me would be great.cheers.

PML is not interested in resales market for bikes I guess. That's the setback. If only they target on resales market their bike sales will definately shoot up more and this should be kind of service they should provide to their customers.

I just called PML at 6319 0500 and pressed extension 1 for sales enquiry. The person at the other end picked up the headset of the phone and slammed immediately, twice.

I just want to confirm the launch of the R1200R is held at Bukit Timah or Alexandra.

Dear Paul,

Welcome to this thread. It is heartening to see a rep of the dealer here.

If you were to go through the entire thread you will see instances of expressions of frustrations by BMW owners with PML. I would like to say that it is a form of feedback by users of the products to the agent, and I hope that you will see it in that light. I had a good relationship with the previous spares guy, and we have helped each other time to time, and I think that it is for the good of everyone including PML if that sort of relationship is maintained between PML and its customers.

Once again, welcome here, and I for one certainly look forward to working together with you to keep the beemers on the road.

Cheers
