Hmm..I got mine FBB at 9k last August. One two years old Drzs should be going around 10-12k depending on the amount of mods. Not sure if you managed to see biting_points summary on page 1. That's quite an exhaustive list of things to look out for on this bike. The mechanical parts of the engine, according to many. Are bullet proof. Only weak link is the countershaft. If its been impact wrenched before, chances are it might damage the oil seal. But only few have gotten that thing damaged. Electrical components like carbon brushes and stator... Hopefully they're replaced for u.. By the way, u buying used or new?

Hi ticks, thanks for the reply. I buying a used one from here or slackriders. I am afraid the price is too over priced and got scammed cause you know, new to scrambles. And the other thing is, first time buying from forums. I always buy my bikes from my friends cause is more trust worthy. I researched on fuel consumptions and some other stuffs already. The one thing always in my mind is, is it worth it to take a ride on DRZ? Cause is only 1 piston, heard that wear and tear easily. Whats the maintenance like? And i heard that when at highway, one must on and off throttle cause if maintain throttle open all the way it will damage your piston? Am i wrong? Correct me guys. Thanks many..

Anyway i saw a DRZ selling at 10k full. But is a 2008. Is it worth it? Or is over priced?

What do u plan to use it for? If you're planning on a smooth as silk bike this bike is definitely not for it. But if u can stand vibrations.. This bike is great fun. as for the highway thing.. I guess partly its down to the gearing. I'm on 15/39 which is 2 teeth lesser than the stock. Works great in highway. Ahys also does touring on his drz On a good day I cruise at 120 for 150 clicks. No on off throttle habit. Some has said that they just did overhaul for fun. Turned out the engine didn't need it. This bike has nickecyl sleeves I think. Same as Porsches. Only wears the ring. But Mr Raptor just only overhauled his engine after racing two years straight on it. Can ask him. Or Facebook message him. People's price. Can't comment much. Later kena shoot. Haha.

Hmm, oh ok. Thank you for the info. I wanna get it cause i wanna try something new. I always tell myself to get a DRZ after my 2a. But instead i get a cbr. So now i decided to change to DRZ after 2 years of bending down on the throttle and supporting the weights of the pillions. I dun tour anyway. I just making trips to and fro my work place, and to and fro from pasir ris to yishun on weekends. Thats all. But honestly, is it.. over priced? =x Pm me if you think it is.

I think posture wise you'll enjoy it. Can't say the same for your pillion though. If you've the habit of carrying one. Hehe.
