yes, push the bike around instead of riding

on a more serious note, maybe u can consider those electric scooters. too bad most are still prototype.

when i first saw ur subject, i thot it was some spammer ad for eco friendly stuff and nike shoes

boring rider. with a boring bike.

yeah...

but the electric scooter is really a good idea...

even the electric bicycle is getting more popular..

just that the infrastructure is not there..

the gov just gives lip service to reduce vehicle pollution...and half hearted give some tax rebates over a short period..i guess money is more important to the..the billions of savings for the consumer ,

the gov cannot give up this taxes.. maybe they are addicted to this source of revenue..

Just look at the ridiculous amount of plastic bags used to pack shopping in the supermarkets and you know that green mentality is almost non-existent in Singapore.

I don't understand why some people need to pack every cup of yogurt in its own plastic bag...

yes...just too many plastic packaging..

i remember seein a cd ..packed in a packaging that is 5 times its size...

hm if u really want to save the earth

ride a bicycle. or work near your home and walk there.

end of the day, mbikes are still releasing pollutants, its just the amount is lesser compared to car

but if diedie want to ride bike

buy a small economical bike like a wave, and ride it to the end of life. 10 yrs coe later, renew. ride until its not economical to repair anymore

patch your torn clothes and wear them even if they are out of season

use everything until end of life

dont eat too much.

think carefully about whether everything that you buy is necessary or nt. and once u buy it use it until the end of life

waste not, want not.

its quite funny all the people throwing away their old bags just to buy "recycleable" ones. still creating waste.

Not to mention, loads of DIY to give all your old stuffs a new life. Such as transforming old clothes into rags, or even patterned quilts.

Eh, I always wonder what significant meaning does the "Bring your own Bag" day have. Its just 1 day of encouraging people to bring their own bags by offering a 10 cent discount?

However, some retailers such as Ikea has taken some action to alleviate this. Items bought from their in-house mart will not be given a plastic carrier but instead a choice to purchase 1 at 5 cents. Not to mention, they do have a specialized parking zone meant only for electrical motorcycles.

Anyway, probably the greenest thing you could do to your motorcycle is to keep it in tip top condition without modifying the air-flow system, especially towards the rear end. It'll be good for both your wallet and the environment (at least a little) as not too well maintained rides tend to belch out smoke.

recycled tires o_O i hope u dont mean reused tires

only 2 strips of rubber keeping us right side up, better dont mess with that one

if it is recycled rubber tires, that is something new to me

regarding emissions, some older bikes produce more emissions than current bikes due to old technology, lax laws etc... so need to check that too

owning 2 bikes is considered wastage alr... after all we only have 1 backside

(btw, i have 2 bikes and i am riding one of the most non-enviromentally friendly bikes around, but what to do nobody is a saint)

recycle tyres...maybe i used the wrong term...

just got a second hand tyre...that is lying in the garage store for a couple of years..

tyre is about 3 years old...

if not this tyre could end up in the landfill with its unsed..young life.

yes..having 2 bikes looks like a big sin...

yeah..but than the 15 year old is such a long bike..a steed with a 4 inch fork extender..making parking a hell..

it milage is 20km/l..the x1 on the oher hand is very good for short rides and parking..they can go every where and tiny corners are no issue and best of all ..hitting 50km/l is no issues at all..

yeah we have our green sin too...maybe i should get a electric bicylce..

but the reason i am not riding a bicycle is simply i dont want to be run off the road by road bullies nor scared the hell outv of me every other day ..cyclist just get no respect on the road..

walking..tried that..but than too tiring for an oldman. and the shops are at least 3km from home.

Like how the early adopters of CNG cars got screwed over big time?

LOL. Rebates? Where is it now? Where's the cheaper CNG?

Teach you a lesson. Don't listen to their BS. $$ to them is more important.

Do you know how many electric bikes and mopeds are there in China and Taiwan cities? Lots.

Here? Banned... in the pretext and pretense of safety, they say.

But of course, the truth is, if you can't license the users and collect taxes, why allow it?

Green? Bull-frakking-sh1t!!
