For sure can feel the power. Shoik..

I see meter, now more speed lower rpm. The best part, i can cruise with gear 3-4.

I should get this thing first when i getting the bike that time.

Now its a must for all. Just tried it, if not happy can sell away,

and its cheap for a huge boost.

For varadero its $99 with installation and 1 yr warranty @ Equipment Extreme.

Where is this equipment extreme shop? The power abuser sounds interesting

M120 > ok. That time I did mine , they had a promotion, $89 (PA2) + $35 (grounding). Hmm, performance wise , I reserve my comments.

anyway mi20, the power abuser really work on vara.. maybe can come down on the meetups and show what the abuser does..

WTF haha why me? I don't exert my back....the opp gender does! :giddy:

But for expert pushing, I have pushed my bike from CTE tunnel for closed to 3kms up slope....I nearly died!

Don't need to waste time pushing, I use my car and a jump start cable!

hi there mi20!!!

firstly congrats on your fine choice of automotive transport! :thumb:

no worries about when u can join us.. there are people here riding for years and still not used to the bike.. for the fact that it is so outstanding!!!

fuel consumption mainly depends on the condition of the bike, fuel used and most importantly, riding style.. if you're in the city a lot and shifting through gears, you would use up more fuel.. constant cruising and you get better mileage..

personally i go 380 - 420 before reserve.. i usually try not to hit reserve as i believe that there are deposits in the tank that may get sucked into the carburetors.. this is something my dad told me about cars though..

i think most of us here go between 350 - 450 on a full tank before reserve..

do pass me your contact so we can update about meetups, kopi sessions and all that? u can sms me(mark) @ 81634466 or msn [email protected]

peace

Guess you guys should be back from the trip by the time you read this post, hee hee...

Do share with us some pics of the trip if possible ya? :)

Anyway, this might be a little off topic but do you guys feel that the vara's horn is a little soft? What are you guys' take on this? :)

Regards,

Selwyn

Black Vara 125

hi there!

i don't remember how soft the vara horn was but i do know that changing it was one of the first things i did!

there are plenty of aftermarket horns available so do some research and take the time for the best decision for you! just remember that when installing that u have a relay done in with the wiring so as avoid blowing any fuses!

again.. do feel free to contact me should u have any problems, queries or if u just wanna meet up for a kopi!

sms me(mark) 81634466 or msn [email protected]

Anyway, scrambler handle bars may not allow you to handle lock if you install handguards. Not sure about that, but that's what happened to my bike when I used to have Renthal fatbar

no problems for me..

klutch also using pro taper scrambler bar..

Hey guys,

Welcome back to those who've just came back from the trip. Looks really fun! :cheeky:

Haven't been checking the forum for quite some time. Broke my finger during a game and now I can't ride for another 6 weeks. Damn! So frustrating.

Anyways, just wanted to drop by to say Hi ALL! Ride safe!

sorry to hear that man..

take it easy and you'll be better before you know it!

guys .. need some info, pls input ..

1) Anyway to just change gear oil ? Really need to change ? Gear change feel rough.

2) Size of tyre front and rear ? Price brand/model and where ? Prefer cheap as long as manufacturer standard. Road Usage Tyres.

3) Sprocket & chain. Price brand/model and where ? Prefer cheap as long as manufacturer standard.

4)Anyone selling stock vara mirror? Or where to get it? Price?

Anyway, some budget info :

Change EO (Castrol Red Bottle) + Sparkplug and oil filter = $28

at Unique Motorsport Eunos. Items are normal brand not performance ones, for me as long as manufacturer standard, its good enough.

Change EO really feel the diff, previously bike feel rough and now smooth..

:cheeky:

hey..

vara125's have a 'wet' clutch meaning that the same engine oil is used to lubricate the engine internals and the clutch and gear box.. therefore there is no gear oil needed..

if your gear change is rough it may be due to your clutch lever having too much or too little free play.. or simply, you just need an EO change.. worst of all.. you need to change clutch plates.. between $130 - $200..

you'll find that most parts in the vara125 are a little expensive as most are made in spain, germany, japan and so on..

most of the stock parts can be found @ FJT along rowell road..

best not to use parts that are non-OEM parts as i believe you will end up paying more in the long run.. one example is that of using a phantom rear sprocket in place of the stock.. we had one man here that did that and in the end had to change his chain AND get a stock sprocket after..

i believe it is best to get EOs that are JASO certified as i mentioned above, the EO lubes gears, clutch and engine and the vara125 revs pretty high..

Hi..anybody knows whether FJT or any other shops got sell Vara headlight bulbs??

hi beb..

you could try sing huat behind biketech21 or any other scrambler or scooter shop that deals in vespas or KTMs as the M5 bulb is stock for them.. halogen bulbs are like $6 from sing huat but draw 55watts instead of 35 from stock and although are bright last like 2 months only..

hi..

the 2007 vara has not had it's price finalised yet (as boon siew states) but expect it to be more than 12k..

i believe mah pte ltd as a few pieces of the pre

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/1341/xl125greyak8.jpg

varas left..

the machines are different in terms of fairings and dash but the biggest thing is that he engine is EFI to comply with EuroIV emissions ratings which gives it 14bhp, 1 less than the previous.. however it would probably give u better mileage and has the potential for some electronic tuning..

'older' varas are 11k+ new..

do check the classifieds for and 2nd hand vara125s..
