I won't recommened taking out the fairing... Just tried taking out. Really a b**ch. Wiring all over the place and if i were to take out, not sure what to do with the headlamps and signal lights.

Has anyone here modded their speedometers??

You may need a few guys here whom have took out the fairings of vara. I did it with a fellow vara rider. Its not that difficult, as long as u remember what you took out...wires u disconnect, screws you take out. Yes agree its tough with all the connecting wires as the whole fairing is connected. You could take out only the side fairing, but just remember what u disconnect. Just prepare a holding place for u to place all your screws inside...All the best exploring!:cheer:

Hehe anyone can teach me how to remove fairing? Im tryin to install my SW Motech crash bar....

It is not necessary to remove the fairing to install the SW Motech Crash bar..

I did not have to remove any plastic either..only just a few nuts and bolts.

You need a good set of sockets and ratcher drivers tools.

New Varadero XL125V..

The new FI Vara 125 is in Boon Siew showroom.

i'll be getting Arrow pipe.. does knt help to bring in too? wish to do servicing and installing at one go... and is arrow pipe suitable for other bikes if i wish to fix it on other bike after i have fix wif vara?

arrow pipes come manufactured and designed for specific bike models.. u could carry it over to another bike but would have to do some mods and run the risk of your backpressure becoming messed up..

just keep the stock pipe and sell the arrow when selling the bike..

Thanks for all the guys that gave advice on the crash bars...

I have just completed but it's only 60% fitted haha....

Like what Aikon told me, skip the 2 side pieces and use only the center 2 screws for the radiator area.... thats 20% for 2 pieces ....

I got problem with the long piece that goes through the engine area..... That's another 20%.... the original bolt and nut is too tight... guess I need some help in that or when I bring to BS for servicing then ask them to loosen it for me

Anyway thanks again.....

Hi guys what spark plug do you all use? Is it possible to use iridium Spark Plug for our bike? Or are we restricted to using copper cored.

if i am not wrong there are a few schools of thought on this..

one is that it is not suited for the bike as someone blew a plug while going up genting..

another is that there is no difference for the power or FC for the bike..

my personal experience is this..

with the correct gapped spark plug and a carb tuning i had better response and increased FC.. no problems on any tours and went up genting w/o any problems and am still using that set of plugs.. my FC averages 25 - 27 km/l which i guess for my weight is pretty decent lar..

hope this helps..

incidentally i have heard about the OWS double tipped iridium plug somewhere in the forum.. u might wanna check it out..

just remember that at the end of the day 125cc with 150kg will always be 125cc with 150kg.. but u can't fight the reliability and lack of headaches.. :thumb:

Why waste money on an arrow pipe when u are changing after 1 year ?

Maybe you could invest the money on other things:

1) Crash bar?

2) Mainstand?

3) Mudguard?

4) Touring jacket/pants?

5) Helmet?

6) 1 x White ARAI TX for Toobez?

7) 1 x SHOEI Multitec for Hideaway and WAI?

8) $888 for admission fee to Varahood >> to be paid to Chairman Toobez?

9) Get klooshy Teddy bears to be put at the bike for all Vara riders?

10) Get a Restraining Jacket to be tied and worn on Farhan when's he not riding?

Just my 2 singapore cents ~
