The rotational sensor is located on left side at the front wheel hub from the seating position. It then transmit the data to the dashboard unit. But I would not dismantle it cos thats not where the problem is.

You can try taking out the dashboard and open the underside and clean the contacts and reseat them. It may work but my experience is that even after doing so the problem may come back.

My take is that the dashboard unit is not completely waterproof and some moisture do get in and screw up the electronics (eg time got resetted)

What I ve done is to spray a coat of clear silicone around the edges and around the underside of the dashboard (after cleaning the contact) and it seems to stop the problem. Nvr had a problem since.

This speedo and time reset problem have been mentioned quite far back in this thread and in one of them you can see pics of the dashboard speed and tacho units.

I hope the problem is licked in the newer FI Varadero - The new FI Vara is already on the road - saw one FBB plate yesterday near Jln Besar.

Thank. I was there.

Hi guys..

Need some help here..

Got a problem with my headlights.. Initially, thought the bulb blown. No low beam, only got high beam. Went to workshop I bought the bike from they can't rectify the problem, ask me to come back another day, said maybe wiring so need more time to check.

Anyway, I played around with the bulb. Rotated it 180 degrees so when I switch on the high beam, it will be low beam instead. But then, few days later only one of the bulb lit up.

So decided to play again with the bulb. Seems like its both working fine. Found out the low/high beam switch was a bit loose. When I pressed the switch downwards for low beam both the bulbs will light up.

Anyone encountered this problem before? Or maybe anyone has any idea how to rectify? :help:

Aikon>> Sir, for the scottoiler M.O. I'm interested actually, but a bit tight on budget now. Can I join the M.O., but collect and pay a bit later, say end of the month?

i might be taking over my gf's bro S4 after my probation period is over... cos he's dun wish to ride anymore and may wanna give it to me... so i'm thinking of fixing the arrow pipe on it if i'm taking over the bike

ok cool.. you'd probably have to get some fabrication done to enable the pipe to fit but i would advise against it as every arrow pipe is engineered for one particular bike in terms of emissions and back pressure..

also there are more options for pipes for an S4..

hope this helps..

AND bros... nid help!!! it seem my bike only able to reach up to 300km the most b4 hitting reserve everytime....

FC varies from bike to bike, rider to rider and so on..

a vara125 with proper tuning and maintainence will get you between 320 - 420km per tank for urban riding..

however.. i used to get 260km before reserve and thought my FC was bad till i realised that i used to topup with my bike on side stand until the auto cut-off on the pump..

it is better you calculate FC based on distance traveled / liters of fuel per topup.. i believe most of us here get 20 - 27km/l..

if you're always 'scrambling' away from traffic lights, carrying luggage for a family of 7, have a pillion and other things, you could probably expect your FC to be lower than someone that weighs 50kg, reaches 5th gear at 20km/h and carries only a cloth for luggage.. :bouncefire:

take the next few weeks to try riding easy and topup your ride in the same way and try using the formula.. u should hit at least 21 - 25 km/l.. :thumb:

also.. i 've found the shell fuels do give better mileage.. not all may agree but i've read quite a few blind tests in certain automotive magazines and from my own limited experiments lar..
