Today i went down to HKL to change my tyres.

The mech showed me the Michellin sirac and quoted me $240.

So i willingly agreed since it is cheap.

After the installation, i didn't check the tyres, paid and rode home.

Then i went to my neighbourhood petrol kiosk to pump air and found that this set of tyre is the same as what i used to have(SCORPION).

So does any one knows how much does a pirelli scorpion cost ?

Im now in a dillema whether to get back tommorow to change it or just make do with it. :giddy: :giddy:

The tyre is manufactured on 1607 so it is ard 1 year old.(Just in case you all will think that these tyres have expired)

Hi,

some qns i need help...

i feel my headlight is not very bright.. any idea how to make it damn bright?

another question, i'm now my rear sprocket is using 41, if i change to 44, the pickup will be better or viceversa? will affect topspeed?

last qns, is the light below our lcd screen replaceable?

how much the lcd component cost ar?

put SPOT LIGHT !!!!

lol. erm you can try to change to halogen bulb which is definately much much much more more more brighter. The price should be around $12 for 1? You can ask jerome about the price. :p

pertaining to your rear sprocket qn,

if you change to 44, pick up will be better and topspeed will reduce. Your fuel efficiency will decrease too.

im using 14, 41 and this should be the best combination since i got this bike from MR CHAIRMAN who took care of this bike meticulously.

Hi guys.. just wanna ask wat is the FC of vara 125? top speed ? and price of a 2nd hand.. does it cost alot in maintanance? thks alot for any info.. =]]

FC is around 28km/l with average speed around 90km/h. top speed is around 120km/h and price of second hand depends on the condition of the bike and how many accessories it has and also the COE. hope is helps..:thumb:

Think you better go back. Did you check the tire size if it is correct? Perhaps they had accidentally changed the tires that are reserved for other bikes to install onto your. worse still, they did not even changed your tires. Im pretty sure if you tell Ah Bee he is able to change back for you. Think should be an honest mistake or miscom.

Im pretty satisfied with HKL's Ah Bee's tire sale. Though some ppl may differ

bro is there anyway to tune the vara for more then 30km/l? heard the 2nd generation vara is FI right? u think will there be any 2nd generation second hand vara available?

if u think ur headlight is not bright enough.. try to get stcok ones.. it should be bright and it cost very cheap... 3 buckeroos.. vespa bulb!

regarding ur sprockets, a higher teeth rear sprocket will get a better pick up.. but will decrease ur topspeed... and anw, if u ride stock, u will always be fast... how fast more can u go on a vara... if u wanna feel the real speed, go to mount faber and ride down at full throttle.. ah.. then u know what is speed.. hais... want to speed only...

i using the cheap light bulb...

not bright.. and always the filament kena burnt...

actually i dont speed much...

average i only go 70-80.

but coz i try on my vara the max only can go till around 115.

cant even reach 120 so i was thinking if i change to bigger teeth will worsen the topspeed anot.

i really dont speed... i'm very slow....

Actually reminds me of a trip back from Phuket with Klutch some time back. Was stopped at a road block just after clearing Thailand custom in Kedah. They insisted on Roadtax but Klutch did not have one. Was held up for almost an hour before they decided to let us go. Yes they do ask for Roadtax.

lol! hmmm, power abuser MIGHT help.. ask WAI about this cos he has one installed in his vara =) and of course, don't speed too often :cheeky: as for second hand varas, i'm not too sure about the specifications. try asking around :thumb:

I'm curious about you bulbs. Think from post 100 plus already got complain about bulb burn.

The bulb that u guys mentioned is some cheapo vespa bulb that even scooter riders seldom heard of.

I was wondering why don't u guys go tos vespaspecialist shop to get proper and better bulbs. At least they don't burn often?

Places to get? Taihin, Tong Aik. These 2 are vespa old timers. I believe they will have all the vespa type bulb. frok cheapest to the most expensive.

I'm using this Narva bulbs which has lasted me for almost a year.. Not very bright.. But after trying some halogen bulbs which last only a few weeks before blowing, I'd rather have 'bright enough' bulbs which last long..

If I wanted something really bright, I'd install the HID or add on some fog lights instead.. :thumb:

well.. the most extreme way to do it would be to go for a HID setup.. prices between $150 - $250.. illegal in singapore though so the choice is yours.. can check out winim's beauty for a preview.. :thumb: another thing is to go for a halogen bulb.. $6 at ah seng scrambler shop behind biketech21.. or u could ask around for an M5 halogen bulb wherever you happen to be.. stock bulbs are VARTA.. $5 from mah motor parts.. most bike shops should have..

stock rear is size 44.. you will get more pickup but lower topend..

don't know what to say brudder.. i've heard not so good things about HKL.. there is even a thread dedicated to bashing them.. *shrug* scorpion's are good value for money though.. the price you paid for is correct.. no overcharge.. tyres expire after 3 years from the manufacture date..

i would be surprised if any carb vara125 can do more than 30km/l.. well.. maybe you ride at 50kmh in gear 5 round and round then can lar.. FC mostly is affected by your riding style are load..
