A ride to Hatyai can also be part of a training. Just need some guidance and self believe. Some of the old birds here went to Hatyai for their first trip out of Singapore. Sure can la.

I agree with you but I had seen rider fall asleep while riding "it happen to me before", during one of my trip to HatYai one of the rider fall asleep. Luck he wake up on time if not what do you think will happen to him?

Rider need enough rest and training on the road and the bike too. For big bike is ok anytime he can go at 140 to 180km/h but vara 125 max is just 110km/h.

I believe rider can do it if they want to but for me I care more on safety.

Thanks and I hope I did say anything wrong here.

I want rider who riding small CC can go long ride and enjoy too.

Nothing wrong said. This is the place where we promote good discussions so that we can improve our awareness and anyone 's input is gladly appreciated. This is a public forum anyway for everyone who's interested.

You're right about the danger of falling asleep while riding and I can understand the impact it can cause. I've fallen asleep while in motion too. I understand that moving at 110km/hr increase the chance of micro sleeping but IMO that's where your discipline comes in. Make short frequent stops maybe? But again, it doesn't mean you won't fall asleep if you're on a bigger bike, does it? Again, this is where your preparations comes in, get adequate rest before a trip.

Travelling speed won't make anyone's life safer either. You can go at 110km/hr and be safe and go 200km/hr and still be safe. But this is very subjective, some people may not agree with me. At the end of the day, it's the rider who determines his safety.

Everyone started with a smaller CC bike. If the bike is able to, why not? But with a proper mindset. That is where the peers comes in to help one another. I've travelled with 125CC enthusiast here to Hatyai, Phuket and Betong to name a few and all came back with valuable experience. See, this is where they gain experience and test their ability to go far. Learning doesn't stop when one gets big CC bike. Everytime they're on the road is a learning experience be it on a small or big CC bike. I hope most people agree with me on this.

So don't worry bro, take the lead and give encouragement to those who wants to try. I'd say this again ... Sure can one...

Yep, i totally agree with yem_paul.. I guess there always has to be a first time for everything, including touring.. Think maybe mr black thinks about our safety that's why he says that hatyai is too far for first timers, but winim's case for example he also managed to travel all the way to thailand on his first trip and come back as fit as a bull! :D Maybe it depends on our passion to determine if we're ready to go for a tour, if we're really interested in touring I guess nothing should stop us right? :bounce: Cheers!

It's not how fast you ride, but how well you ride.
