Hi,

I owned a 11 years old varadero125. It is a VERY stable bike, no pickup whatsoever, but definitely good for city and town rides, forget about touring unless going at 90km/h only.

Parts are a little X since they use bigger bike parts like chain use Honda super 4 series .

Bike looks good ,feels good, , and very dependable since it is Honda, take care of it and will last you more than lifetime.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a 2nd hand vara xl125, will be getting my license next year feb, but hoping can start sourcing out for potential sellers.

As I'm a new rider, will not be familiar with a few stuffs, so please do be patient with me when i ask alot of questions.

Just have to get a clearer picture of what I'm getting myself into.

why vara? well, cause I'm a tall guy alil on the plus side. xl125 seems to be a suitable 2b bike for me.

Am currently commuting 20+km per trip to work, so getting this will be somewhat a comfy and cost efficient.

Any sellers preping to sell their xl125?

thanks alott

Hello to all...I'm humbled to be a Vara 125XL owner. Just got it a month back and just riding around. So far so good but maybe the pick up a little bit slow (maybe due to my size also; big fella here...almost the weight of 2 rider).

Just a question... my brake pads is making some screeching sound intermittently. Wonder what could be the problem...Both front and rear brake pads are new (just change abt 2 weeks back).

Anyway... you guys have a meet up anytime soon? Would be cool to just meet up and slack.

(The wind blowing in the face is a great feeling)

Hi Guys,

I am currently taking my 2B licence. Waiting for my lesson 5 to come in another 2 weeks.

I am totally sold on getting a Varadero. However, I am only 172cm is the bike too tall for me? Will I need to tip toe all the way?

I am in my mid 30s and getting a bike is more for a weekend ride around. I am definitely not a speedster and I like quiet bikes. My aim is to get to class 2 and get a GS in the future.

Thanks.

Hi kenneth, welcome to the vara125 club. like u, im also bent on getting the vara125 when i was considering before even taking class2B. i had not seen the bike "live" till i passed my 2B. the first impression was "omg thats huge for a 2B bike". Considering my height only 1.66m, it does prove challenging at first.... once u accustomed to the height u will be alright. remb I ONLY 1.66M tall. hahaha so if i can, most riders would be fine with that bike. if not, just shave a bit of the seat.

Good luck to your 2B soon, wish u get one of the bikes available. not many alrdy....its a good bike.my first n only bike till i got my cls 2 bike. it can do wonders. just be patient with the power.

Echoing my good friend's feelings on this issue - my first and only bike until I got my class 2 - and oddly I still occasionally miss it.

Had the exact same feeling the first time I sat down on one - prior to buying it - "OMG IT'S HUGE". But it isn't, it's only huge compared to learner 125 bikes at driving school - and it's the perfect bike to start on if you are eventually targeting a large tourer / adventure bike.

I want to also add on to my friend's testimony.

He is a great rider. At 1.66 it's nothing for him :p

Haha. Thanks for the replies guys.

What I think I will do is to concentrate on passing the tests and getting the licence first. No point trying the bike now or looking to buy one right now. Knowing myself I sure cannot resist temptations and want to "ride in carpark" then after a while, the carpark just seems to get bigger and bigger.

Also alot of my friends are saying that I am crazy, turning mid 30s just got a baby and now then go and take class 2b. :p

Mid life crisis maybe.

Hope I pass and can ride with you guys soon.

Cheers.

Kenneth,

age is just numbers. I also just turned mid 30s and just had my 2B. So what's the issue?

Can't agree enough that whatever it is, be safe on the road.

I've got a question guys. I just change Engine oil for the first time for my vara 125. The mechanic poured in 2 full bottles, so i guess that would make 2L of engine oil. And after that, somehow, i feel i'm loosing power on the bike. Its just been 2 days since i change it. Could any of you enlighten me of problem? Is it the engine oil problem or could it be something else. I use a motul 300V, 15W, 50.

Bro EO only 1.5litre. Your oil sump too much oil, likely cause of ur losing power. Also be sure to use correct oil grade.

ah ok roger that. Thanks bro... by the way, today i check my oil and it looks like very very low level... Any idea where it could have disappeared to? i check on my exhaust but no black smoke coming out
