For fz16 when we turn, are we able to bank it to one side?

If you mean leaning or cornering like sportsbike, all I can say is I do not know but I foresee you might not be able to do that much when turning right due to the large pipe covering unless you do not mind having some new artwork on your cover. I would suspect that the tires would play a part as to how much you can lean. If I am not wrong, the stock tires would give you some slight problems in leaning as they are not too rounded, I changed mine to Pirelli sport demon with a more rounded shape to give me more leaning angle. I may be wrong in what I said.

I've had my FZ 2nd gen for a year now and recently I have found that when I turn the handle to the right without touching the throttle, the RPM will go up from an idle of 1.5-2k to about 4-5k. I was wondering if this is normal or is there something that needs to be rectified?

Refer to the my previous post about where to find the screw that controls the idle RPM, squat down while looking at the triangle metal plate resting on the screw and turn your handlebar right to see if the triangle metal moves even a little. If it does, then it might be that something is pulling the throttle line or whatever it is called when you turn your handlebar, if it does or does not move even a CM, it would be best to bring it down to a motorshop and show them, best is that it happens every single time you turn your handlebar to the right and the exact same thing happens, this way when you bring it to a motorshop for servicing, they can rectify it easily.

To be honest, I am not sure if soft suspension would cause your tires and sprocket to wear out fast, but best is make a comparison with any of your friend who has the same bike as yours, starting from your suspension, or maybe engage a friend who knows quite a bit about bikes to look it up, or maybe have your friend to intro you a bike shop that is trustworthy and have him bring you down to the shop to have a check and compare with the previous bike shop's diagnosis. All I know about tire is depending on how often you ride, your riding habits and the type of roads you frequent. Tire lifespan can be checked by the triangle arrow which you can find on the tire, there is a thread about it. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/137316-When-to-change-ur-motorcycle-tire

Have a look through the video guide and then do a check yourself, for chain, you might wanna search around in the forum or do some online search since I am not very sure myself about it.

Anyone have any experience servicing at Yamaha agent? Understand that we need to book a slot for appointment. Since my FZ have reach 10k mileage, I was thinking if they can do a maintenance checks on my FZ and oil change, air filer cleanup and etc. Is there any difference in cost compared to other bike shops?

Btw can FZ16ST head fairing fit into the FZ16? Feeling cold riding without windshield as first time riding naked bike.

I asked the same questions before last time and went down to 2 shops to ask their mechanic and they all said it is impossible, and they also said that if I want the head fairing, might as well get the ST version.

Your choke cable got caught between something when you turn to the right. That's why when you turn to the right the choke was activated hence rpm increases. I had similar experience before

Hi,

i still new to bike and i got a new FZ16ST.

I went for my servicing and used a semi synthetic oil for the bike.

And the result are the vibration of the bike become stronger and sound become louder as well.

The service center say it's normal due to the thinness of the oil different.

i would like to check which engine oil best suit FZ16ST ?

Hi All,

I'm selling my beloved and well maintained fz16.

This bike has never fail me as I take care of it well.

nov:

change wrist grip

change back tyre (michellin)

change air filter

Always change engine oil every 1500km and oil filter 3000km.

thorough wash at petrol station once every 3 weeks

Didn't want to sell but had to because want to change to driving.

Value for money! Ideal for new riders who want to own a bike but didn't want to pay the ridiculously high coe(3k+) for new bike.

Interested parties and want to view, can contact me. For serious buyer with full cash.

price : 5.2k

erm... this is how all bikes corner. when you push down on the handlebar in the direction you want to go it will tilt and move in that direction. its called counter steering.
