Where to buy hose?

I'm looking for a length of clear hose for attaching to the brake caliper nipple for bleeding the brakes. My old one is too small in diameter. I've tried a few shops that sell fishes and aquarium stuff without any luck. The tubing they have is the soft and rubbery kind, but I need the firm kind.

 

Does anyone know where I can get this kind of hose? Thanks.

kelantan lane, opp ah boy there got sell. i dont know the exact shop name, but my friend use it for diy oiler tubing. it's firm n smaller in diameter than those in aquarium, it fits ur description, but dont know if the exact diameter fits ur bike.

I managed to find the tubing, thanks guys. I went to many aquarium shops and all of them don't have it. I found it at the hardware store! lol!

 

ezzyoiler, bleeding brakes is really easy.

 

1) lvl the brake reservoir and open up the cap

2) top up with brake fluid

3) put the rubber/plastic seal back in the reservoir (the fluid will shoot out sometimes during bleeding)

4) find bleed nipple on caliper

5) fit box end wrench on nipple

6) plug clear hose onto nipple

7) put other end of hose into an empty drink can or some other stable container.

 

here's how you bleed:

1) pump the brake lever slowly, squeeze it like 5 times, then HOLD

2) give the nipple a quarter turn anticlockwise, fluid will come out of the hose, and the lever will be squeezed in all the way to the throttle. At this point, do not let go of the lever, continue squeezing

3) tighten the nipple

4) let go of the lever

5) Go back to (1) and repeat about 5 times

6) top up reservoir with fluid

alamak i am very blur. I went to the shop, agar agar and bought 2 hoses, I didn't have the bike with me and didn't measure, so use agaration. Went to try it just now, both also don't fit. One too small, the other too big.

 

The diameter of the bleed nipple is around 78mm. yeukeong, ezzy, do you guys have a tube with internal diameter around 80mm? thanks

you mean 8mm...sure..i think have it...may not be 8mm..i have various sizes ..sure 1 will fit..

Apply heat to the smaller tube, once the tube is slightly soften, push it into the nipple, and the tube will expand and form a tight seal. If you have heat gun, that will be the best. Otherwise, naked fire, like lighter, stove.. etc also can.

I'm using Outside diameter 8mm PU tube..Which r for pneumatic fitting..

ezzy, I converted the biggest, 1/4 inch into cm, it's only 63.5mm. Still too small. Demon, I'll give your idea a try, thanks.

The heating trick worked! Managed to stretch the end of the tubing so it went into the nipple. The ID of the tube was only 50mm, stretched until 80mm. Thanks!
