This morning when I start my bike, everything seems normal (can be pushed backward out of parking lot easily as normal).

After just 1 minute ride and stopped aside to answer a call (still inside multi-storey car park with engine keep on), after that, suddenly my bike cannot be pushed forward nor backward (neutral gear / clutch already). o_O Any clue?

My bike is Honda Phantom TA200, both front & rear brakes are disc.

I have not ride my bike for the last 2 weeks.

check your brakes...

i have one prank done on me too...some itchy fingers readjusted the rear drum brake..to almost braking clearance,,,after riding for a while...pads got heated up and stop bike at junction..bike stall when gears engaged....

as yours is disc brake...possibly your calipers unable to retract after braking..check this..or your disc is out of shape causing this problem..

i love my ezzyoiler

must be brake oil dirty, that's why the caliper cant retract. take a flat head screw driver, look carefully at the disc, pry open the caliper. once free, u can push to nearest bike shop to bleed ur brake oil.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

If the calpiers are sticking, that means the seals inside the brake caliper needs to be changed. They're preventing the brake pistons from retracting back into the caliper body.

Thanks for all your advises.

I found out that it was the rear brake, and yes it failed to retract back.

I tried to use a small knife blade to separate it, but did not work.

Finally, I kicked hard on the rear brake pedal, and it now can retract back.

Seems to be brake oil or brake piston issue.

Will go straight to workshop to fix it.

Thanks all for your help

take something of flat head n pry it open. could be ur oil to the caliper arm.

do you take out the caliper or just pry it open against the brake disc?

just pry it open if u can, then u can ride slowly to workshop, otherwise u need to call tow.

if u know how to bleed, can diy also.

Try not to do that. It will and might damage your disc. Take out the caliper off the disc and pry open the pads with a screwdriver. Or simply loosen the caliper and wiggle the caliper to create space between the disc and pads and tighten the screws back. Ride to nearest shop avoiding the use of the rear brake.

TS's is rear brake, I

if the caliper climp tightly to ur disc, how can u losen the caliper? another way is to bleed out the oil n pry carefully with a screwdriver. take note to point the sharp edge on the pad.

Pardon me for having a different opinion. :faint:

Just loosen the screw of the caliper that are holding it to the forks. Once the screws are out can just wiggle the caliper against the disc to create a small gap. Big enough to get the wheel rolling. Tighten back the screws. Why can't he not do that? It works for both front or rear disc brakes.

Same question to you. If as you said climp or I am guessing it should be clamped tightly to the disc how to pry open with a screwdriver? These two things are already in contact. If he goes at it with a screwdriver and go all flinstones at it high chances he might damage the disc. You will need to create a small gap before you can insert the screwdriver to pry it open right? Just like a a powdered milo can. You need to have a small gap to insert the spoon in before prying it open right? Makes sense?

But hey whatever works for you man. No hard feelings.

no worries, at least i learn u can losen the screw to free it. :) but not everybody knows which screw to open, and/or have the necessary tools.

unless the arms to the calipers r damaged, i dont see why prying doesn't work. of cos note have to be taken how u pry, in case of damage to the disc like u mentioned. there will always be gap somewhere n the screwdriver dont have to be inserted btw the pad n disc, ur leverage can be some side metal or the corner of the disc or something underneath like a see-saw. if much force is needed, that means ur calipers arm might be damage.

I just have workshop fixed my rear brake problem.

It was not the calipers or brake fluid. But was due to a device called something like "master pump".

It is near the rear brake pedal, and it pumps brake fluid to the calipers when pressed on the pedal.

Cost: master pump: $98 + bleeding $10
