you can not duplicate the key because CDI had recorded 02 times of copying. Change the whole system is around 600$. You can register the spare key by yourseft if you purchase 01 connecting cable, it is around 80$

Have a query regarding brake lines. Read the Hel brake lines threads and concluded it offers more "feel" and "bite" to the braking, etc, more responsive etc. My query is whether Hel brake lines does offer more stopping power as compared to stock brake lines. If two riders, one without and one with Hel brake lines or other steel braided brake line, both brake at the same time, will the one with stock brake lines stop less effectively then the one with modded brake lines? Assuming they both using the same brake pads, brake disc condition and road surface and reaction time.

Lastly, my vtech 1 is 7 years old, is it necessary to change the lines? I'm pretty satisfied with them and dun feel in need of more stopping power. Surely, there are version S around which are more than 10 years old and have never changed brake lines right? Or is 7 years old bike about time for a change of brake lines?

Riders who tried both brake lines care to comment?

both the riders with steelbraided hose and OEM rubber hoses will be able to brake at the same time, with same brake pads, same brake disc condition.. etc..

only difference is, the one with the rubber hose will have more brake lever travel due to the expansion of the rubber hose..

there's no guideline on when to change brake lines.. and if it ain't broken.. don't fix it...

what i can suggest however is... try to ride another similar S4 with steel braided hose that's properly prepared and bled .. ie mine (haha.. can't resist the temptation to brag a bit) ... and then you decide which one you like..

honestly.. a steel braided line gives a much much firmer feel on the lever.. it's like you're pressing against a wall.. increase a bit of pressure on the lever and your bike just stops... compare this to a system with rubber hoses where when you increase your pressure on the lever, the lever moves a lot and you're getting less braking force (some of your force has gone to expand the hoses)...

very well saod..

to explain more simply is:

OEM hoses: imagine pressing onto a soft board wall, you will feel a bit of "sponginess" with palm "sinking" in..

steelbraided lines: imagine pressing onto a hard wall, you feel firm, cuz the wall prevents you from pushing it in further..

also factors like how well the lines are bleeded, size of your MS, condition/grade of your brake pads, brake rotors also will be affecting your braking efficiency..

Good braking feel isn't just about how strong the brakes bite.

An indication of good brakes is the linearity of braking force and the response of the lever action being translated to braking force.

Steel braided brake hose enhances the linearity and direct response of the lever action to the braking force compared to traditional rubber with fibre braided hoses.

Modern brakes of the super 4 can lock the front wheel anytime. It is very very good and if you take it account super 4 only weight about 185kg, it is more than enough even with the standard hoses. It is the feel that riders are looking for when we switch to steel braided hoses.

  1. Anyone replaced their chain slider before?
  2. Normally chain slider can last how long? The attached file from S4 manual say inspect every 1000km.
  3. What's the purpose of it? If it is worn out too much, can cause chain to snap or de-rail?

I asking this question coz i never replace chain slider after riiding 52,000km. And there's sound coming from my bike lower part. Not sure where.

Thanks for reply.

Suspect clutch worn out. Need to change. A way to test clutch, 1) Start yor bike 2)engage 1st gear and press yor footbrake hard and try to move. If the clutch lever distance very far almost finish and the engine start to dies off this shows that yor clutch need to change.
