Hi Bro and Sis, if driving a car pass by the stationary speed cam can we excess by 10km/h? Let say the stationary speed cam is 60km/h. But speed is about at 68 to 70km/h?

The legends going around is that that the speed camera will capture your moment of glory only if it is speed limit + 10km or so. :D

And factoring your speedo inbuilt overreading (I presume), you are probably safe.

Every now and then, we all tend to scare ourselves with these incidents. ;D

Think have allowance of +10km/h. Last when i ride sp pass by there 70km/h everyday. I'm sure got many driver or rider don follow the speed limit. But now because from bike change to van so don know is it same as bike.. curious...

speed cam has approx +10km/h allowance, tp does give some allowance also, but depend on situation.

analogue speedo has some tendency to show higher speed, while digital speedo is more accurate.

usually if u trip the cam, u'll see a flash from ur mirror.

some cam housing r dummy as the equipment r expensive, they swap the place from time to time. hot spot areas confirm have cam inside.

some ppl like to play the limit. i always stick to below the road limit so that i have allowance in case i forget the cam is there.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

btw, van has a speed limit, 60 or 70, if u're on the expressway, limit is 90, but u're forced to go 60 or 70. the speed trap there might not catch u, but tp will. witness lots of time, tp always like to stop van, lorry or bigger vehicles.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Yup Tp will caught when the van or lorry is hogging the road. But mostly van or lorry wilk go at 80km/h. But everytime i saw is tp chasing lorry or van to the most left lane...

i think only the kpe cam is working

KPE cams are using laser speed camera working 24/7. No need to change films, unlike the old type cams.

I tink most of us probably knows about this when KPE first opened to the public, the first few days or something, many were caught speeding. Probably the legend of 70+10km does not apply here? haha...those laser cameras are accurate.

accurate or not, i believe they do give some allowance, although the 10km/h is a myth, it might be lesser.

kpe cams r working but they do have e +10kmh allowance. tested n proven, i travel at 80kmh there daily, no summons so far. u can travel at e limit safely but dun overshoot tt, anything pass 85kmh, they flash

the one and only...

my friend on drz told me 89km/h will not kena.

i test on my pgm3 also just below 90km/h.. (my pgm3 meter has been tested as quite accurate to the tp.)

Firstly, all vehicle speedos are about 10% optimistic ie, speedo reads 90kph, actual speed is about 81kph. Of course the difference varies from different makers.

Secondly, it is true that all speed cameras have certain tolerance above the prevailing road speed limit however that discretion is in the hands of the TP reviewing the records. No one will get a speeding ticket for going 2kph above the speed limit.

Road speed cameras usually uses doppler technology while handheld speed detectors uses laser.

i doubt u're really on 90km/h when ur meter show u 90km/h. a lot of other bros cofirm getting caught at 8xkm/h.

i'm not getting risk getting caught in kpe, n i seldom go there. if u really want to know ur actual speed, i got a gps, pm if u're around the area. :)
