hey guys.. need your tips on the rpm of my bike.. anyway.. this mostly happens when theres a pillion.. seldom when i ride alone.. ive been experiencing trouble with the rpm when i cruise.. let me explain clearly..for example, im at gear 3.. going around 50-55 kmh.. when i open more throttle.. the rpm has trouble increasing.. and therefore.. my bike has difficulties increasing speed..

what should i adjust?

Haha nolah.. Not really obese at all.. But like i said.. It happens mostly when im riding with a pillion.. So that means it still does happen when i ride alone.. How do i attain an easy pick up or increase in speed? Its like my bike has trouble going fast..

The aprilia rs125 has a restricted cdi which retards the rpm at 5-6k rpm, with good tuning it can be minimized but can certainly be noticed when a pillion is added on. I personally experience this and here are your options:

1. Switch to premix, I.e disabling the 2t pump and tank and mixing 2t to your fuel tank instead. $40. With greater throttle response, the flatspot is greatly minimized.

2. Break the bridge in the cdi. $25 or DIY. The restriction should be resolved.

3. Tune up your bike, the flatspot at 5-6k is common but if it's too heavy say staying for 4-5 seconds at crawling rpm I would say you're running rich. Personal experience, for what it's worth.

If your bike has problems picking up at the 8k range check your valve and solenoid. Probably a broken, or jammed valve.

alright.. if u say my bike has a restricted cdi around that level of rpm, would it mean that it will NEVER go about 6k? coz when cruising at gear 6 at 100-110 kmh, my bike rpm can increase.. but its a very slow and gradual.. like that if i see a yellow light.. very difficult to beat.. haha.. coz most people when yellow light, they open more throttle and their bike increases speed instantly.. mine cant.. :(

The key to riding our 2 stroke machines is staying in the 7k rpm range. I'm usually at gear 5 at 110, about 1/3 throttle. If I open full throttle I'll blast through and tear the roads. Rev higher before changing gear, Approx. 8k rpm at least before upping gear

exactly what i mean.. when ure cruising.. at gear 4 or 5.. when u open full throttle swiftly, ur bike will fly.. and u will tear down the roads.. but my bike wont.. the rpm will get stuck, and the bike will sound like its losing power.. like it has reached its threshold.. so to counter this.. i must gradually rev.. then my bike will increase speed slowly.. thats why i have alot of problems with yellow lights.. ;(

i tot when u c a yellow light ur suppose to slow down n not speed up?

e way i c it u got two choices:

1. meet up wif us when we're having an outing n learn more abt e bike, while waiting 4 tt to happen u can read up abt ur bike online. plenty of info ard e net on mods, diagnosis, maintenance

2. juz bring it in to a mech n tell him e prob ur having... there's a high chance tt u'll b chopped here but if u cant wait dan...

4 a start go google rs125 powervalve unit n rs125 tuning. once u understand these two things, u'll more or less have a better idea on wat mite b e prob.

gd luck!

the one and only...
