Small cylinder mean smaller pressure. Also bike design.

Generally, easy to start if the bike is well maintained. Easier to start in the morning as well, if the bike was run fast the previous night. A completely "dry", cold start will take a few more kicks and use of the choke where necessary.

If kickstart need to throttle a bit then easier to start the engine, is it a worrying symptom or its normal?

I don't know about you but i find this worrying. I have the same problem but it only happened after i changed my magnetic coil. But alot of people say that its normal for old bikes. But i only need to do this when my bike engine is hot.

What is the mileage and age of your bike?

Just passed the 70k mark. Slightly above 5 years old? Jeez why so much problems one. But actually it doesn't happen very often that I need to throttle. Most of the times like 3-4 kick can start already. Is there a difference with me e-starting or kick-starting with respect to the longevity of the bike?

Bike that starts too easily when cold has a very lean fuel air ratio. Higher temp during daytime has the effect of leaning the mixture even more.

I thought if richer its much easier to start in cold when its leaner?

I was running very rich settings for about half a year to optimise for 100+ kph long distance cruising and hard acceleration. It's like pre enrichment to counter the mixture leaning itself naturally when throttle is opened rapidly.

This super rich setting is impossible to start without turning up the idle one or two turns (semi open throttle position). Warm up already must turn the idle back down at the next traffic light!

After valve clearance the planet mechs got rid of my insane rich setting in favour of a normal lean or balanced one. Bike starts within 3 cranks now and rather quiet.

The easy start is nice but I don't like the high engine temperature which causes the bike to naturally run lean, reducing peak power.

This is my experience with rich vs lean starting and performance.

GREAT. SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN

Whatever the mechanic claimed to have done last week obviously was a fake cause I can't start my bike again. Same god damn symptoms. And today is labour day god. Obviously it's not my battery that is at fault here? In fact I'm 100% certain the mech knows wtf is wrong just that he doesn't want to explain it to me. My friend mentioned something about an alternator possibly causing the problem?

I tell you bro. STATOR ASSEMBLY/MAGNETIC COIL/MAGNETIC COIL/THE DAMN THING THAT GENERATES THE ELECTRICITY WHEN BIKE IS MOVING THINGY.

This was exactly how i felt. Seriously. To the point i had an accident because of it. I had to push start my bike in the rain, and keep revving non-stop in the cold rain at night. Then somehow, i was focusing on keeping my bike alive rather than the wet, oily and pothole filled road, my front wheel locked and i buanged. On the PIE. Bike's front end was in a mess but i only received a sprained left hand and a 2cm abrasion on my right elbow.

Now i am gonna get flamed by people because i "jumped" to conclusions. Haha.

My bike's symptoms:-

1) Cannot start when electric start

2) Cannot start when kick start

3) Have to push start to start

4) Have to keep revving if not engine will die

5) Once stop revving, engine will die just like that if below 2k rpm

6) Lights will get brighter if i rev, dim if never

7) You can 'feel' the engine gonna die if you never rev

Just trying to help man...

$60 dollars. But i was informed that the coil was only the second revision and not the latest one. Latest one is $100 plus and my bike is infamous for the coil spoiling.

Rev 1.

$35

But your bike pulsar. I dunno how much it will cost. My bike everything all made in china one so can say cheaper...

yup yup it does. the thing still rotates and makes that sound. whatever it is. as in i can see through my engine through this small window and something inside is definitely rotating. same thing as kick-start, that thing still rotates, but the engine just doesn't start.

Go and sell your bike away and get another bike.

in that case u should go public. maintainence & wear/tear is part of any vehicle. as a driver, u should have some knowledge what to check to isolate the problem.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
