Saw a FX plate at Loois ... another one is FQ if I recall correctly ... both black in colour ... but not sure if sold already or not.

A couple of weeks back, was told that Universal Motors got a FU plate ... dunno wat colour though ... can check with Michael at 6278 2029

No idea whatsoever of the conditions of the above bikes :goodluck:

- Aerodynamics is more for speed

I don't understand what you mean by this sentence. :?

i think he means aerodynamics helps to make the bike go faster but doesn necessarily help make the bike more stable. its the weight of the bike that makes it stable at high speeds.

though i actually disagree. aerodynamics of the bike plays a big role in stability at high speeds; equivalent, if not more, important than bike weight.

Automotive aerodynamics is the study of the aerodynamics of road vehicles. The main concerns of automotive aerodynamics are reducing drag, reducing wind noise, and preventing undesired lift forces at high speeds. For some classes of racing vehicles, it may also be important to produce desirable downwards aerodynamic forces, to improve cornering.

Ya ... ... This is precisely what I am thinking. :thumb: :p

weight slow down the bike, but become stable. by good aerodynamic, the bike weight can be reduce but still giving the same down force and stability. Blackbird was consider a bike with very low friction coeficient

i agree too

think of a F1 car weighing just 600kg going at 350km/h

it would need good aerodynamics to drive at that speed

but he say.." but sad case" - sad case due to the bike or because it was grab by others?. anyway.. its bike shop price lei... skali they say got GST 5%, Hire purchase fee... so and so.... , also got free engine oil and spark plug change (but never change) he he

the car stay on the track also due to fins design and spoiler, which actually create a down force. but this cause bad aerodynamics because it deflects the wind flow to create a force, instead of cutting thru it. Good aerodynamics is perfect wind flow cutting without creating any turbulance or slow down the wind flow.

but guess on the bike the conceps slightly different as no natural balance on 2 wheels, instead of 4 on the car. Front fender, fairing, tail, body and ram air was design such a way to reduce air friction, with consideration of 1 rider only. That why with pillon the drag is higher.

anybody going for small meetup at adam road... NOW. actually they meet at 845pm.

sad case cos its sold liao... a friend bought a bike from that shop sometime ago too therefore intro to me. well, good or bad shop i cannot say, but there's no hidden charge... all transparent... thats most important. servicing can always do at your most trusted mech :cheeky: anwy i never really trust bike shops when they say they change EO and plugs for you unless you really witness them doing it. not an issue for me. well... i just gotta wait for another good offer to come by... :thumb:

the day(night) i filled up 24 litres into my bird...

ran dry at JB. 2km before the esso, bike felt jerky due to not enuff petrol pressure

370km travelled

filled up 24 litres. to the brim liao. havnt spill yet.....

pic as proof. this is the most i ever filled up on my bird. usually its abt 22litre only.

hi guys,

can share how bb aerodynamics create downward force?

it's low drag coefficient means that the wind is channeled past the bike, reducing drag, so how can this provide a downward force on the bike? hmmm....

Unveiled to the public in 1996, Honda CBR 1100XX "Super Blackbird" has brought the leading edge of motorcycle technology to a new height. Even though is provide an awesome 165 horsepower output and a top speed exceeding 300km/h, this super sport bike is not just about muscle. Its sleek, bullet-nosed wedge shape styling was the result of the extensive wind tunnel testing. The distinctive "piggy-back" combination headlights allow the Super Blackbird to have an extremely narrow frontal aspect. The cowling, with purposefully sculptured air intakes and outlets, contribute to achieve better aerodynamics, whilst providing comfort and wind protection for the rider. At the heart of the Super Blackbird lies the 1.137cc, liquid cooled inline four cylinder engine which is compact and light in weight.

good point there paul_mai, after giving it a bit of thought, i'm also starting to question if the aerodynamics of a motorcycle would contribute to DOWNFORCE.

however the lower drag-coefficient should help reduce turbulence effects at higher speeds am i correct? I believe this should help subtantially to improve bike STABILITY.

i'm purposely making a distinction between DOWNFORCE and STABILITY here.

how about considering taking apart the fairings of the blackbird, put some weights unto it to equal the weight of the fairings, and ride it at higher speeds as a theoretical experiment. I wonder whether it would be more stable... hmm...

i'm no mechanical engineer and my knowledge of fluid dynamics is pretty limited. any Mechanical engineers or students wanna clear that up?

i mean in total put the bracket ?????

i think the price includes the fitting kit for BB (or bracket) ... but maybe not the installation charges. Boxes excluded of course. Maybe you want to check with Chiap Lee?

I asked for a pair of E41s, wingrack, fitting kit and installation and it comes close to 1k in total

370km on 24L of petrol?

15.4km/L?

wow, quite low leh. or are all BB like that?

easy, just ask the lightest rider(i can volunteer) and heaviest rider (poo, riz or any other rider, he he dont angry hah) to test the same bike... ha ha.

who want to sponsor bike?

i dun mean to be sarcastic,

good petrol consumption and powerful big bikes don't go hand in hand.
