normally when floor surface not good, slipery or uneven, or just top up full tank, i seldom use mainstand, scare anything happen. side stand sufficient mot of the time, unless lubcricate the chain.

Its just a learning curve bro. Take care...

Hi All,

Actually, besides lubing the chain, why do we need to park mainstand ah?

Is it to rotect the rear wheel from deformity when parked for long periods?

Hi Josean,

usually i park on mainstand most of the time. no particular reason for it. cos since the mainstand is there might as well use it haha. i somehow feel if park for long periods of time, i feel the mainstand gives more security leh. just a personnal feeling. and i pity the side stand, support the weight of such a heavy bike... each time i park on sidestand, the sidestand like going to give way, i know it won't, but i pity it hehe... another reason is that i believe bike parked on mainstand is that the engine oil level can be checked acurately the next day, as e bike is not slanted. parking on mainstand saves space too, keeping the bike upright gives a secure feeling. haha. i dunno about the rest of you guys :cheeky:

park mainstand can prolong yr internal component, esp bearing as at horizontal, equal scoop of engine oil when you start yr engine in the morning, when during the night, most of oil already settle down at bottom of engine. I read somewhere where mech show the bearing damage inside the engine, the right damage more compare to the left. This is on bike without mainstand, sportbikes.

compare to main stand, side stand will offer better stability due to lower center of gravity. dont believe, try to kick your bike at side stand and main stand... ha ha... joking only

not sure about checking engine oil level at mainstand. i tot it suppose when both tire on the ground and at vertical position. as you know at mainstand, the front are lower so more engine oil go to the front part of engine block. maybe stated in manual... forgot about it

checking of EO this part i not so sure... but i bet its still more accurate to check on mainstand than on side stand.

and yes i agree with you on the part where bikes parked on mainstand causes less damage to internal components. as the EO is drained to one side overnight... i remember i read it in some magazine... two wheels? i can't remember. i also rememebr it did mention that pulling a wheelie for long very distances can also do harm to the engine as the EO is "pulled" to the back of the block leaving less oil than usual to circulate... this very tech issue haha... anwy i dun think its an issue to me as i don't think i am capable of pulling such a high calibre stunt... hahha! :cheeky:

main stand... hmmm

my fav...

1. more stable

2. relax to side stand n reduce risk of bike topping over due to soft ground

3. lub rear chain

4. relax rear sus... keke

5. easiler for oil to back flow to its slump...

guess by putting mainstand..psychologically will tell pple thats its much more stable with the mainstand on cos with side stand that piece of samll metal dun look strong to support the bike..anyways perferences of the rider i guess...
