Nissan sunny 1.6A

I have heard alot of complains on fuel consumption, but to me it being a timing chain driven, fc no issue. What about other reliability issues this car frequently encounter? Any?

During my younger days, I used to rent many Nissan Sunny. The issue I had with Sunny was air-con. Even though they were rental, but because mostly I used 3 or more days and I even had to top up the aircon gas. but still the aircon not so powerful. now my current car which is only 1litre perform better in term of aircon.

Aircon only mah. But engine and transmission good right? Does it overheat in traffic?

I had used both manual and auto, even though at that times, the cars were about 5+ plus old, the engine and transmission were ok. I had 2 ex-colleagues who had Sunny. They had no complain. ! is still using his now 8 year old. his previous car was also Sunny.

ya i notice most nissan owners are really middle age and beyond. But these cars engines really sound quiet in all traffic conditions, sometimes even better than some modern cars. Its the next best thing after the old honda civic or mitsubishi lancer.

hEHEEHEHEHEHE. You are right abt age. my friend is mid 50s and the other is a 65yr old lady. i have driven corollas and civic and in terms of power for the same cc, sunny feels abt underpowered.

Yes, looking to buy 2nd hand in sep or wait coe falls if it happens. Will seek car inspection certification from idac before buying.

sunny is a very affordable japanese car for uncle like my daddy! OMV barely ard $12k. cheap and good! but resales value not so good though and not much we car modified to change the car outlook. however, sunny being an uncle car is comin to and end. check out he newly facelifted 2011 sunny. beauty.

What can I say about this car? Great FC, easy to handle and a great start for beginners.

Problem free at 90k mileage, 5 yrs old till it was sold, other then the usual servicing and brake pad changes. Never once broke down, but if you are buying cars at this age.. do expect certain wear and tear..

i got myself a suzuki liana instead, also timing chain, and really like the boot space. Sure can sell, nissan's longest selling model.
