eh i received a speeding letter from TP on march this year where the offence was on 12th Feb 2011 exceeding by 40 - 51km/h.

it was a 12 demerit points and a court case, but somehow i don't seem to have yet receive my letter to go court etc. and i checked EDDIES my demerit pts are still 0 and there are no outstanding traffic offences also...

and my class 2 was acquired last Aug 2010, which means now is still under probation, will it get revoked if i get 12 demerit pts??

and if my court letter didn't come until after Aug this yr, will my class 2 become 24 pts before deducting my offence??

nid some advice and help here... first time kena demerit pts

its been so long...

In both instances you will still get to keep your license... But I guess the final decision will be made by the judge... Unless you have a valid reason for speeding, which never exists... Good luck and I hope you will not speed again...

Meanin? Wat do u mean by both instances? Cos my main concern is that if I were to get the 12 demerit, my class 2 will finish the probation by comin aug is it?

It doesn't matter if u get 12 demerits... Being a P-plate, we can have demerits of up to 12. So 12 you would technically still have your license. Your concern shouldn't be if u get to keep your license, but if u can stop speeding. If I am not wrong, the judge can still revoke your license, due to the severity of your speeding. So it's up to the discretion of the judge. Apologize if u feel offended. This is what I feel and think I know. :)

Probation rider have only 12 points. But you can afford to deduct until zero point and still able to ride. So meaning you can still keep your license and carry on riding. One yr after your date of offence, then you will get back your 12points and restart another year of probation.

As for the court case, I assume you just admit to speeding, the judge shouldn't add on additional punishment as it will looks like double punishment. Unless you drink driving or cause injury to other from your action. Otherwise, clean cut punishment of 12 points deduction and of course min $800 fine.

it still can be double penalty eg speeding + reckless driving

really depend on judge. but some cases really r genuine for speeding, there must of course be solid proof to back u up.

TS's demerit is still 0 is prob due to the court case, cos judge might give lighter/heavier sentence, so after the court case, they'll update it.

if u have a pending case, ur points will never update to be 24.

i would suggest if TS is still riding, stop riding until the hearing or take 200% care, cos if anything were to happen, god bless u...

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
