TS,

GP esso to Tapah R&R is approximately 470-480km. from Tapah using old route up to brinchang is ard 65km-70km. if u are taking the new route(simpang pulai) from Gopeng route 185, is approximately 80-90km to brinchang.

means if u are going by old route :

GP esso - Tapah = 480km

Tapah - brinchang = 70km

Total = 550km (estimated)

the old route is pretty straight forward. Exit tapah and follow the way and sign up

simpang pulai route:

GP esso - Tapah= 480km

Tapah - gopeng = 50km

gopeng - Brinchang = 90km

total = 620km (estimated)

The simpang pulai way u need to exit gopeng, travel for a certain distance, turn right to route 185, travel for a certain distance and turn right to CH. there are signs along the way but if u miss it, u will be on your way to gua musang or ipoh.

Hope this helps.

P/S - Me and my friend also tried using GPS when going up CH for the 1st time, it lead us to some forested route.

I see limbs everywhere on the road

Limbs of strangers i have not met

Are the Roads that vicious ?

Or is it just Dangerous ?

Whatever it is, no one can predict what lies on the roads................

It the beginning of the end, when the Shurangama disappears.............

The old route is really tight and twisty and the road is in poor condition generally. Very pretty ride but watch out for the buses and trucks on that route, its narrow. The new road is like a race track; fast flowing corners, wide and generally in good shape. Often when I go I will go up the old route, spend the night then head down the new road, depending what bike I am riding. I would not bother with the old road on a sport bike personally, would just enjoy the new road.

dear frenz....disk lock is unefficient for bikes in msia,even for heavy big bikes....itz better to buy thick long cable lock(like d bicycle lock)....lock it anywhr u wanna leave d bike...d best place to park bikes is in more crowded area...cz passby-ers can take a glance on ur bike (at d same time thieves cnt do their activities)...i'm core tourer..so i got sense whr is d best place to park bike anywhr in msia :)
