The guys are not very impressed. specially they are not happy with visor.

 

Of course, here it is much cheaper, but still, it may be worth adding some more for the Hornet

But don't take my word for it, I've also read up a lot about both helmets before i bought the hornet... and everything i've read that compares these two... the shoei wins (in practically every department)...

u r spot on, especially the quality.

 

Arai quality seems somehow sloppy and lack precision.

 

In terms of noise level and ventilention, Shoei is also a better choice. Somehow, Arai stil have this irriating sound from the side and top.

 

But i gotta say shoei lose in the flexibility (removal of peak & visor) and the esthetic department (for artwork designs)

 

Arai artwork are more dynamic and fiercer (although the artwork still fail in the precision department), and the contour are sleeker.

Shoei artwork are more typical and less dynamic, and the contour are more boxy.

 

Funny thing is, for full face street helmet, its on the contratry, Shoei (i.e, X-11) artwork are more dynamic and unique, can't say the same for Arai.

 

But IF u are just getting the plain color helmet, it may not matter much. There aint any doubt dat Shoei would be the better choice...... BUT i like the gradial tonality at the mouth piece of Arai thou. hahaha.... I'm one confused soul.

 

Anyway, i own 2 Shoei X-11 and 1 Arai TX Mortard. I'm kinda a sucker for artwork.

hi,u guys ever tot of shark helmets? interior head fit simliar to arai but is dammed light compared to the other 2 jap brands! no visor but real motard riders use goggles! lol!
