how about making it complusory to take a class 2b before getting a class 3?

 

a lot of my friends who took the class 3 licence and took class 2b will feel that they became a better driver and more aware of their environment.

 

same goes for most who took class 2b and then followed by class 3 when they drive on the road...

 

i'm referring to the majority, not the possible reckless minority.

 

another point is that i feel it's a social responsibility for car makers to send their dearest customers who bought their top of the line high powered vehicles to go for defensive driving courses to further understand the handling of their new cars.

 

singapore should have more smart cars. they are cute and small.. but then... sometimes people like to stereotype and say, "small cars = ladies cars" i like such small cars though.. easy to park and manuever.

i think our driving systems needs more reeducation...

 

if not.. than a hefty fine for minor offence... that will keep ppl on their toes ..

and it always work

having many classes of class 3 may not be feasible as pointed out by some peeps here. however, i would like to suggest the idea of restricting the engine power of the car till they pass one yr probation. UK bikes have restrictors on their bikes for new riders. and they get to derestrict the bike once they pass probation. think this will be the most simplest way of solving this issue.

Sorry guys, know this has been discuss a little in mechwira's thread.

Maybe we could concentrate on this a little.

As we all know, there's three classes in riding motorcycles

2B, 2A and 2. We have to slowly upgrade to a bigger bike.

Whereas Car drivers, one class 3, is enough for them to straight away buy a 2Litre car or even more.

I know there's a issue on those young riders not being able to handle it, will ride and kill themselves.

But what about those young drivers, who drives a 2L sports car straight away after they pass, Can we say that they are equally good at handling it?

Would love to hear some views on this issue, what you guys think about it?

Why do you think TP don't want to limit car license just like what they did for motorcycles?

use coe cat + yrs of experience. coe has cat A, cat B good enuff. yrs of driving experience to limit those young punks, at least 20 years old or 2 yrs of driving experience before can upgrade. lol.

.... bottom line is, we ride because we WANT to... they drive bcos they HAVE to.. if there is a 3b, 3a , 3 system... i think most ppl will stop at 3b lor...

Actually there is already a class 3A, for drivers, it's for those who sucks at co-ordinating both the gear the wheel and the pedals.

(Allowed to drive only auto gear cars) but you are right, people who got the Class 3A usually stop at that.

 

There is also a class 3b, 3a, 3 system, just that they call it by different names, class 4, class 4A, class 5.

 

Class 4 is for heavy vehicles. 6 wheels one, so need another license. Ha ha!

Class 4A is a vocational license (forgot what it is already, but must be for more wheels)

Class 5 is for lorry cranes, Lagi more wheels! this one really need more practice to get used to, because of the double clutch.

 

Maybe someday I will go and take class 1 license too for my 3 wheeler.
