Honda Varadero 1K

Hi to all vara riders.. Few mths back,i got a Vara1K(carb model),ever since i've been wondering whether the tank got 'reserve' bcoz at the fuel small lever(below left of the tank) does not indicate Really need help bout this :help: So far tested the maximum i can go for full tank(must maintain 80-90km/h)is 450km..

Vara Bros, any of u change the bike sprocket & chain recently? How much & where? Need to change mine already lah.

atenxr> ok bro d fuel lever on d left is d fuel tap. if set to centre is off, if set to up or downwards, its on. no reserve tap! (change fuel pump twice redy so can tell d tap on/off heheh) N yes it has reserve, only once d yellow reserve lites come on, u only have abt 60-70km to last before tank is empty.

d chains --> DID X ring(530vm forgot o/x ring) - $160

afam rear --> carbon steel - $70 (honda orig $80+)

afam front --> $38 (honda orig $40+)

 

dun worry abt d afam sprocs cos it'll last more longer than d honda orig, n chains can last 3 yrs if really taken care off..

Bro,wat do u mean only once d yellow lite turns yellow?So lets say while riding i did not notice the yellow lite then i switch off the engine and park then when i ride the bike again the yellow indicator won't lite anymore? :help:

atenxr> it will lite up after awhile appro. about 1km or less....to play safe i usually rest the meter after top-up...

atenxr > As long as ur fuel tank on 'reserve', the lite indicator will turn on yellow when on the move. So pls go GP & top-up.

Hey guys i'm new to this thread. Just want to say hello to all Vara enthusiast out there. Or maybe you guys can help me . My vara suspension is gone, so i was wondering what is my other alternative for replacement suspension rather than going for the original one as i heard that original suspensions sucks. I've talk to M-Technik they recommended Technoflex at $1500 for back and fork spring set. Does anyone has a better recommendation?

 

And one more thing is my clutch recently slips at times especially when accelerate suddenly. Is this a sign that my clutch plates are worn out? And how much is it to replace it?

 

How bout fog lights any recommendations on where and what to install?

and biketech21 got WP ( Ktm & BM using it as stock) I think same set would cost under 2k...

How much does M-Technik charge for replacement of just the rear shock with a Technoflex unit? Is it a direct replacement part? Might be going to M-technik on Saturday to fix up scotoiller and new chain sprocket sets. At the same time can ask about the shock.

 

My rear shock is rusty on the sliding cylinder surface, still rides ok.. but not too sure if it is due for a change. year 99model. 6 years plus.

Like wat varas recommended , only Techno, WP and Ohlins.

Some brothers here use Techno, very few on Ohlins ... non on WP's.

Around $1.2k for rear. Front only change internal springs. Around $300.

If year 99, even no rust, rear shoch gone with the wind lah...

For original if milage reach 30K km, rear becomes too soft already..

Actually got few other brands... Hyperpro from motorworld.. erhm, another UK brand which I forgot the name... that 1 is value for money according to EU counterparts.

 

Panjang>> to add on , technoflex got 5 yrs warrenty. And also , I m curious , the set that was quoted to u , regarding the rear shock. Does it comes with a preload adjuster? The little hydraulic canister thingy.
