thanks bro for the info...guess i have to find nites or offpeak times to run in the machine...my daily journey to work very congested....to tuas...

unless i leave home early if not sure badly run in one...

no big issues with the bike lei. i see the common problem is the seat have problem closing, probably due to alignment and i notice those who have removed and reinstalled the seat (for changing cover) have encountered this problem. maybe alignment off. another is the airbox hitting the suspension. the older batch have been back to Mah to install an additional bracket. i got mine in July w/o the bracket and i have not had a problem with it. maybe SYM was notified and design changed for newer batches i tink. then some isolated cases with cracked lenses and oso a noisy engine that has been overhauled. other than that, most riders are happily enjoying their rides. :)

tires i find it okay, even in the wet. have cornered at hard angles on dry roads and still yet to feel any form of fishtailing. the scoot does give me confidence. i would use it until end of its life and save the $300+. not cheap la 1 set.but if u have the cash, then its ur choice. :) the pirellis are definitely an improvement.

running-in on a scoot is different. our engines dont rev up and down like manual bikes. instead, most of the time the engine spends most of its time in a small range of rpm (e.g my scoot ard 3500-5000d depending on speed). so actually, scoots are not easy to run-in properly. so we just accelerate progressively and smoothly to gently break it in. hard run-in is even harder (if u are talking about on-the-road). in order to reach higher revs, you have to travel at really high speeds. manual bike u can just keep in low gear to reach the higher rev range. scoot, u accelerate hard, the bike fly over speed limit liao.

2 bottles of EO every 5K. 1 spark plug, maybe 10k? oil filter every 10k. gear oil every 10k. very cheap to maintain. :)

Just did my first full service after the Cameron trip. Changed belt rollers uclip coolant engine oil and filter, cleaned transmission and air filter.

Hmmm round trip is about 1500km from sg>Cameron Highlands>sg.

Throughout the trip I managed to maintain at 130-150km/hr along with the silverwing guys. If there's little wind resistant max speed for me about 160-165km. If there's wind resistant then can only max 150km. Don't know how some maxsym say can reach 170..seems like impossible..comfortable cruise speed for me is 140. However when there is gradual bend I need to drop to about 130 cos my rear shock is at no2 setting. Think need to adjust harder to corner with more stability.

So far nothing much more to expect from this 400cc scoot. Really value for money. Lol. Taiwan scooter

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

150km bike becomes difficult to control. 140 still ok.

Ah choong motors quote $250 for belt roller and uclip change bro

Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk 2

bro,so the $250 does not include coolant engine oil and filter, cleaned transmission and air filter.

rite?n did he service ur clutch?

Posted

Had problem opening seat via key. Rode to mah and they fixed it in 5 mins. Apparently cable was loose so they re tightened it. Today same scenario. Seat won't bulge turning the key. Only can open if you apply downward pressure on the seat while turning key.

Spent 5 mins self rectify and made self discovery.

The rubber seal surrounding the boot lid was popped out of its groove, thus seat could close but really tight to release, causing an upward pressure thus the locks cannot unlatch smoothly. I Reseat the rubber seal back on its position and seat opening is flawless ever since. (Trace back a few pages someone had key-seat problems) I probably yanked the seal off its place while unloading stuffs a while ago.

Maybe u can check wif mah or weda if they have it? But u need both sides eh. Since u change the right side, u lose ur hazards. Thats y u nd to get d left switch oso. Sounds expensive to do.

I suggest wire in a manual switch better.
