<Ride> Cherating or Telok Cempedak : 3rd to 4th Sept 2011

Hi All,

 

Anyone wants to join me for this trip? My first time trying route 3. Will be a relac ride (100-120kmph) cos I want to enjoy the coastal scenery. Moving off at 5am on saturday morning from woodlands checkpoint. Spend the night at Cherating (Cukai) .Going back to singapore on sunday after lunch. If anyone has any recommendations or advices please feel free to do so. I am open to any suggestions. Do pm me if you are keen.

Walk-In (No prior booking required)

 

Meeting Time:

3rd Sept 2011

5.00 am: Meet under last flyover before woodlands checkpoint

5.15 am: Proceed to woodlands checkpoint

5.30 am: Regroup at open area just after malaysia checkpoint

5.45 am: Pump at shell or esso

6.00 am: Journey starts

8.00 am: Reach Mersing for breakfast and fuel stop (132 km)

9.00 am: Continue journey

11.00 am: Pekan for fuel stop (151 km)

12.30 am: Reach Cukai (destination) (102 km)

Hi bro 2wheels, if I can collect my new bike this week and get comfy in 2 weeks, I will join you. Unless you advice me not too as i have not ridden for like 10 years now....starting again next week :-)

Hi dfordiavel, do you mean that you are getting a brand new bike? If that is, the travelling speed may be too high for running in.

Hi bro dfordiavel, running in will depend on wad type of running in u prefer to do. The soft or hard run in. I am no expert, cos all my bikes 2nd hand....haha. n you will need to know wads ur bike fuel consumption first but i reckon we will stop every 150km for petrol.

Hi there....I took my new ride a DR650 on 5th August 2011 and on 7th August 2011 I rode up to Betong Thailand....first at speed 80 -100 kph until 500KM...then I increased the speed to 100 - 120 till I reached Betong and changed EO and filter there at 1000km......on the way back on 9th August I was riding very constant 120 to 130 and that's how I run in.....

 

If you guys are travelling on Route 3, the speed on the route will not be so crazy though and better if you can keep changing gears round the corners to have a better run in on the bike....

 

I may want to join in for this ride if its okay with you guys....

Hi, May I know you age and bike, I am same as YOU!, just got my bike xjr1300! after stopping for 10 years, nervous at first, but just like bicycle..once you up on the bike, you body just like transfomer, come back into one piece.

Just take care of you body, some body parts may need to warm up before ride on a bike....

Walk in is okay wif me.....always do that as I travel alone with my wife always there are plenty resort available and normally I will go to the one furthest out of Kuantan....then can go to eat shellest crab nearby

I got a new ducati diavel collecting this week. Wow your ride is even bigger Badder and heavier :-). Glad ur adjusting well. Hope I have an easy first week as well !

Guys...I say we book the hotel at Suria Resort Cherating for the one night stay....price is about RM 197 per night (inclusive of BF) Seem to be one of the cheaper ones around that area.....also it is near Cukai where we can go for dinner and pasar malam walk around....

 

You all decide......
