Hi there....I took my new ride a DR650 on 5th August 2011 and on 7th August 2011 I rode up to Betong Thailand....first at speed 80 -100 kph until 500KM...then I increased the speed to 100 - 120 till I reached Betong and changed EO and filter there at 1000km......on the way back on 9th August I was riding very constant 120 to 130 and that's how I run in.....

 

If you guys are travelling on Route 3, the speed on the route will not be so crazy though and better if you can keep changing gears round the corners to have a better run in on the bike....

 

I may want to join in for this ride if its okay with you guys....

 

 

Thanks for the advice bro. I honestly forgot about running in as I also tend to buy most pre-owned. How's the dr650 doing? Creamy engine performance was what I heard :-) nice.

Heh.....riding at 80 - 100 in a trunk road is considered fast......niway, I am sure we will all wait and take care of each other along the way

 

Mr World....400cc is faster than my DR650....niway I have two up......

 

Diavel - the DR650 is a simple bike with no electronics to worry about......in fact all done up and it purrssssss.....beautiful bike....but not as good and comfortable if compared to my GS800 Hehehehehehe...

Guys...I say we book the hotel at Suria Resort Cherating for the one night stay....price is about RM 197 per night (inclusive of BF) Seem to be one of the cheaper ones around that area.....also it is near Cukai where we can go for dinner and pasar malam walk around....

 

You all decide......

So we might anticipate high hotel/room occupancy.

The route we taking is actually kampong....

All those celebrate Raya balik kampong, but still those solely enjoy the holiday one....

Meeting was good with 2wheels,C4ble,Gnesnah,yoo and myself attending.

Note touched:

1) Meeting at 5am on BKE under flyover after exit 8.

2) After clearing immigration at Malaysia side, gather at the open space immidiately the immigration complex. If situation not permitted, proceed to meet at Shell.

3) You, yes you G450X will be the lead, many can be the sweep but I stay middle.

4) I bought the travel insurance after taking the advise.

5) Final destination Chukai.

6) Space key looks like is necessary, still confuse though.

7) Stop for GAS every 150km or 100 mile.

That's all.....did I miss any?

Yes, dont forget RM for petrol, food, hotel, belanja me .....raincoat, wear full safety gear (if not at least jeans and full covered shoes), sleep well tomorrow nite and don't be late as well shall not wait
