YES, especially seizable offence.

A police officer is deemed to be 24 hours on duty.

Simply put, if it is his off day and saw a driver bang into a pedestrian and run away, he is not only a credible witness but its as if "the police officer saw the crime itself happen".

In addition to that as well, don't think only TP can report whatever road offence has happened. Even the normal patrol officers, or even those division dispatch drivers can make a report. Haha. Scary huh?

Everything. Don't tell me sometimes you never wait for the cars to clear before you do a u-turn when the lights suddenly turn green. :cheeky:

If have unfinished quotas or you're simply asking for it, then yes. If not, usually they won't bother.

I don't know where you get your facts from, but they don't have a quota.

Anyway, any off-duty police officer can summon an offender. They just have to take note of the offence, date, time and location and submit it to OC Violations at TP. When they're on duty, they can stop you if the situation permits. If not, they will lodge a summons upon their return to station. Like one of the bros here mentioned, there's nothing to be afraid of if you have done nothing wrong or your vehicle is street-legal..

My good friend is working as a TP officer.. asked him before.. He mentioned that normally if they are off duty.. they will tend to relax abit and not trigger happy with their summon. But if you're really reckless or pose as a definite danger (sometimes if you diss them), they can "echo"(report) out the charge to their colleague.

i still dun get it, theres totally nothing to be afraid of.lights dont suddenly turn green.as long your bike is street legal, and dont ride in a way like theres no 2moro. things would be fine even if TP stops u.if you feel theres a unfair treatment, theres always channels to bring it up to.

if u are afraid of everything regards to TP, stay at home.dont ride.take bus.safer dont u think?

i do being stop by tp before, thats because of some thing i committed on purpose.nothing to blame them.theres a law and regulation, theres always left and right. sometimes left is always faster but it sometimes comes with a price tag.this is life.embrace it.

You have nothing to be afraid of because you follow every single damn rule. Not the rest of us. We lane split at high speeds (can be summoned for reckless driving), we switch lanes abruptly in order to escape from a hazard (TP can summon you for riding without due care of others), not stopping at a stop sign before turning (you will be summoned for not stopping at a stop sign), U-turn at a junction as the traffic light turns green and not waiting for the other side of cars going straight to pass you first (again, reckless driving). As you can see, the possibilities are endless.

I wear a full face helmet with no PSB sticker, my brake hose is SS and not original etc. I can get summoned for all these. Its whether they want to or not. Therefore, its scary.

You've said it, brother. One too many people whining about fear of breaking the law when they should concentrate on changing their riding habits.

HAHAHAH, that's more like cursing than a blessing. Touch wood. None of what he mentions is really a bad riding habit, bad riding habits are swerving left and right at high speeds in heavy traffic, aggressive cornering, tailgating + pressuring etc.

Perhaps they have never see hell riding and driving before. We encountered it many times on the road that how we ride is considered normal.
