TS aka bro Zam, just like what we had on the previous trip, u may wana 'confirm' a few things like the date of this trip and set off time with location (eg. 1st link or 2nd link) to give us all a rough idea on what is going on?

Believe any changes can be discuss and iron out on next tues meet up at kallang (kfc / mac)??

I stayed at that place the last time I was there...very nice...parking is at the bottom of the Hilly resort.....you park as you enter the resort and some buggy will take you to the reception building and after check in, you will be taken by buggy to your chalets.....when you want to go out, just call the reception and they will send a buggy to pick you guys up.....

 

Niway, its a waste going there and not take a boat ride to some of the place around the lake.....like I mentioned earlier, the boat ride will take about half a day and after that you can all ride down to trengganu town which is not far away and "shopping".

 

Since you guys wish to just go for a nite, the only fun will be the ride there and back (surely tired)....8hrs????? I not sure as I took longer (my style of riding ya!!!!)

Oh ya, u reminded me that I once took about 12 - 14 hours back including stops and makan, etc from Trengganu on the coastal routes which I almost forgotten. 8 hrs will be very challenging unless we are avg. 150km/h on the trunk roads.

 

Second thoughts now as I assumed we can reach at ard/ before 2pm on Saturday.

 

@2wheels: Maybe can I suggest maybe we move off slightly earlier at say 2/3 am and aim to check-in by 2pm, Saturday. Else will be abit wasted if we reach in the evening. Cannot do/see anything.

1 fuel stop = 15min

Total time = 8hr

 

Move off = 5.00 am sharp

Yup, safety is of priority and prime concern.

 

I was thinking if we can cover 1/3 or maybe say 200km-250km before the sky brightening up at ard 7.30am at a leisure pace at 70-90km/h, we should be able to reach the destination before 2pm. The trunk roads can get quite congested sometimes in the morning. Hard to overtake safely at times. Would be rather ambitious to expect the riding journey to be anything less than 10 hours.

 

The last time I took more than 10 hrs from Terengganu Town and I would say quite aggressive and fast in our riding as we were rushing to get back to Singapore to work. (Risking head-ons when overtaking while enjoying adrenaline rush. haha)

 

My opinion would be I rather have a longer time to reach than to rush.

 

I find it 'safer' to ride at night (no obstacles, just have to open the eyes big big and on your highbeams when necessary than the nerve wrecking overtaking episodes trying to keep to my ETA

My 2 baht on the 2D 1N is. not to do it. The destination is one which is perfect to relax the mind and body, doing the 2D 1N will totally ruin that. I was last there in May on a 1 bike trip, before that spent two nights in Cameron, ended up I decided to stay 2 nights at Lake Kenyir to enjoy the peace and quiet.
