its no fake. try again in 21, 915, 888 minutes. thats 365, 264 hours. or 15, 219 days. or 42 years.

i bought a new android smartphone to replace this iphone 3gs. after removing the sim card, i left it on my desk till the batt ran out. then my wife wanted to use it, so i charged it up... and this pops in.

any ideas how this happen or how to rectifiy? i assume plugging into itunes can sort it out?

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Hmm...sounds like one heckava wait there.

First off, try plugging it into iTunes.

Then use the Update iPhone feature - it's on the page where you see the picture of your iPhone.

If there seems to be no way for you to perform that, then you gotta force your iPhone to restore. To do that, you gotta put the iPhone into what's called Recovery Mode:

Take precaution that it'll wipe out everything inside your iPhone if you proceed, including outing pics, address book, and what not.

Option 1:

Open up your 3Gs and disconnect your battery from its connector and leave it for at least 30mins then connect it back.

Option 2:

Flash IOS over
