for normal bike like sp, changin the speedo cable will be fine...last time i change 10 bucks nia...

for bikes like r1, suzuki g1, cbr1000, 929 all use electronic sensor...cost almost 80 to 100 bucks.

Not all bike are running on spining cables... cable are cheap (~$20±) and easy to replace... very rare it will come loose unless the previous dude didn't tighten properly.

The more expensive type is the sensor type (like my bike).. mine cost $150 (last quote by bike shop)...

Is your trip meter running? My case was the speedometer and tripmeter wasn't. Turns out was the sensor. Cost me $120 :sian: Was my Shadow 750 Aero that it happen to.
