i've installed ferrado at lab yes still 19

i have tried ferrado and it is very very noisy when braking could be due to brake dust..does it happen to you??

as compared to save brake rotors by gettin a cheaper brake pads.. den end up crashing???

so which will be cheaper??

changing a better brake pads dat will 'eat' yr rotor?? or gettin a cheaper brake pad dat will save yr rotors but u end up repairin yr bike and mabbe yrself..

think abt dat..

i see .. that means the more effective the brake the more it will eat your rotor ? pai seh mi dunno ~ den if use normal brake pad but use steel braided hose will also eat ur rotor as much as using a good brake pad ?

put it this way.. our braking systems is running on frictional force to slow the bike down.. so some basic physics, ficition = resistance = things gets wears out... it apply even to your OE equipped brake pads and rotors, it jus takes longer time to wear out.. bcos the manufacturer have properly matched your brake pads with rotors, and made some compromises in cost, milage and effectiveness

erm.. brake hose has nothing to do with your brake pads or rotors, its jus a hydrulic system to press your brake pads onto your rotors...

steel braided hose is jus to improve your brake feel and responses.. go do a search in the forum.. u can find alot of discussion regardin the puropose of a steel braided hose.

I second that. Mine lasted me 4 mths only. When I changed to IZUMI, the pad was barely there. Break some more and the disc will be rubbing against metal.

Izumi pad is really lousy. one of the causes of my buang the other time.

weird question, shouldnt we asking how well it stop

Obviously they're already convinced that it's better than most brands mentioned right, brudder? Just asking how much, not discussing it's price mah...

I oso want to know lah, haha. Can't find an accurate answer in this thread!

I wanna try Vesrah first though, since it's cheaper (I always work my way up the price when testing various products.).

Anyway sorry ah, but I gotta ask you guys to help recap this topic:

1) Vesrah: What grade? How much? Where?

2) EBC HH: How much? Where?

3) Ferrodo: What grade? How much? Where?

This thread is very very fragmented, it's my fifth time browsing through the entire 14 pages and keep missing out, forgetting or mixing up the numbers!!

I need to change the brake pad for my X9.

From what I gather the specs for the X9 pads are as follows: -

54.05 x 50.90 x 7.90 mm (front right, front left and rear)

Manufacturer/Part number

EBC - FA266/FA266HH

Dunlopad - DP631

Ferodo - FDB2074

SBS - 730

Does anyone know what's the brand of the stock pads? I feel the stock pads provide good braking performance.

From what I read in the forums, EBC pads are pretty good too. given that there are so part numbers, how do i know if a shop has the dimensions for my scoot?

lastly, any comments on the other brands as listed above?

Thanks!

the stock ones are Brembo. :)

Stamped on the back

Feriti/D450FF

Brembo

07.6949.10

oh and I've checked on SBS website that X9 Amalfi/500 uses SBS 157. Recommended HF Front/ LF Rear for Ceramic Pads or RS(sintered) front and RQ(Carbon Tech) for rear. Thought you may want to know.

I called UNITY and they indeed had EBC HH for my Cagiva Mito, but priced at $75..!

I think I'd rather go for Brembo pads from Minerva, priced at $70 front and $42 rear.. (about $20 for installation, wah liew..)

BUT, STILL, I'd like to try this the VESRAH pads first, since they're significantly cheaper (trial and error loh...).

Anybody can tell me where to get VESRAH pads?

Thank you!
