Just to clarify, there are front EBC brake pads(normal type) for NSR150sp. These are good enough for me therefore I feel you should give it a try. Got mine sometime ago from UNITY MOTOR, though they a bit expensive. Maybe il4 can advice on where better place to get them? :D

i tried the ones u're talking about, they don't work in the wet though.. and it's not very good in the dry either.. rather go for Goldfren ceramic carbon but they seems to eat my rotor.. any comments? :confused:

Goldfren brake pads might be good for braking but your rotor gone man! You can try Ferodo pads(normal type) for the front though Ferodo eat rotor a little bit they are good in wet and dry. Gives good feedback with steel braided lines. But if you can wait, Ferodo already have a sinitered metal pads out already but they have not reached Singapore yet. :p

i've tried the goldfren ceramic carbon before, and they sure grip like nobody business no matter in dry or wet weather.. but there's sign that my rotor is sinking in... :pity: still considering to get them again..

Kyle, the abrasive material in the pads make the pads grip well but for each pair of pads you ending up ruining a/a pair of rotors. Just don't make sense. There are brake pads out there and those mentioned in the posts that give you bite in your brakes and doesn't ruin your rotors, why don't you try them. The cost of OEM rotors even outweigh the cost of changing pads that are expensive. Give it a thought! :D :D

agree...but it give out brake dust too....which make the rim dirty....

Daytona brake pads will spoil your rotors and does not give good braking effect. You could try Versah-sintered metal (yellow packaging), EBC (HH or normal)or Ferodo. Depends on the shape of pads you're using, you will definitely be able to find one from the above brands. :bounce:

Basically, I have not tried Daytona pads but my friend who has used them and also a brand called IZSUMI(or something like that) has his rotor surface looking very 'eaten' in. I stick with known brands previously discussed in the above post and have not experienced any problems with them so far. :D

Hi guys,i am riding an RVF and neeed a new pair of pads for my front brakes,any recommendations on which one would be best and would not eat into the rotor? Please include price range also.

hey guys/gers, me just went down to HLK 2day to change brake pad...

 

Actually my horn bracket broken, wanna change... then suddenly though my brake pad also wearing out ... so i change a new one...

 

they charge me $18 for one side. therefore, front = $36

he allow me to change any type of brake pad in their shop. Since I do not know any brake pad brand, then i listen to their mechanic lor..

 

They change for me Gold Frez.. he say is the best among his shop..

even better then SBS brake pad and some other jia ba lang brand... hmm.. so you all got any comments on this?

tried it. Changed less than 1 month later coz it sucks in dry and wet conditions. SBS still the budget-best-bang-for-buck brakepads to me.

btw, wat do u mean it sucks? you mean cannot make the bike stop in time?

 

i tried riding in wet and dry condition.. still ok... the grip is very strong.. but the bad thing is the screeching sound when coming to stop...

the GOLD brakepads i changed last time, it doesnt grip much. Take out and sanded liao still same.

Juz wanna ask.... wats a suitable breakpad for RX-Z? my fren helped me test my bike yesterday n told me my rear breakpad die liao.. need to change. So any suggestions n prices? Oso do ppl change both front n back at the same time??? Mine i dunnu wat breakpads i am currently using=pppp

 

Oso can anybody advice on tyres for my SPOKEY rim rx-zz? my front tyre botahing.. currently on IRC.. so thinking of changing it with breakpads at the same time to a soft compound tyre... any advice???

changing of brake pads depends on how you use your brake.. but seems you clock abt 10+ km, tink time to change a new sets.

 

You can check whether your brake pads are finishing by looking at the brake fluid or physcially see the brake pad is finishing soon...
