Dear bros..

The best way to wash or clean your chain is using Kerosene...this will get rid all the dust and oil...

the apply chain wax..any brand in the market will do, even greese..

Prefer to lube chain every 1000km or ride after rain..

Never never use EO as chain lube as EO contain sustance that can attack the o-ring in the chain.

You can find this in your bike manual...Please read

enclose is an example from my Yamaha...

Oh bro thanks for the info. Luckily u remind me this. ~#%*^> one of the bike shop told me can use used EO to lube chains. Saw them doing these often, pouring used EO from bikes servicing and pour into oli cans to lube.. Fast and free..

I use a degreaser spray and then I'll lub it again after I degrease.

The degreaser contains hexane and heptane (from working in a lab experience).

Any bros out there knows where I can buy any of these two chemicals?

Bro,

Not sure about the ingredients you looking for. However, am now very careful in selecting a safe and right degreaser for chain cleaning. Had very bad experience in the past using degreaser on my chains. First time using felt shiok when the dirt start to comes off so easily. However when after rains and a few days later, the chain rusts badly.

So if anyone is currently using any good degreaser that is safe for use. Please let me know. Thanks.

Wat i did is to spray GT85 on a piece of rag and wipe down the chain to clean it rather than spraying directly on it as i not sure if it would get behind o-ring and breaks down the lubricant in the pin area [this is just my personally preference].

Thereafter, when applying chain lube onto the chain again, i will spray a thin layer of the lube onto both sides of the side plates [the one that face us and the other side that face the tyre.] to prevent it from rust rather than just at the middle rollers and waits for it to spread out during the ride as i feel that much of the lube will remain on the roller and spocket teeth and the remains that gets to side is not enough to give full coverage to the side plates.

For those that exprience rust after chain clean, take note of the rust pattern and u may notice the rust is more at the mid portion of the side plate.

Heard abt this much... but does it really work as well as claimed? Chop chop chilli chop quickclean?

After using the chain cleaner, I am glad I dun need to spend that 1 hour cleaning the chain which I used to. :D

The result is as good as using the manual way, just alot faster.

Just use the chain cleaner, run it a few rounds over the chain with the supplied applicator and wipe off with the rag later.

I usually uses bike specific cleaners to wash and clean my bike, cos it saved me alot of back breaking time. Too lazy, but end result is the same. :D

The GT85 is good stuff too.

I used it to clean the rims, works great as the grime comes off easily.

The best part is, it leaves the rim with a coating of the GT85 so the next time the rim gets dirty, it can be cleaned off easily with a rag as the dirt dun stick to the rim much.

But the normal can is costly though. I bought a 1L version a few years back which is more vale for money. It lasted me for probably 2 years.

bro,

Tried using WD40 before to clean chain. And even lube after that. Found that it's too thin and chain always gave a sound when riden After rain, found that the chain rust more easily. Not sure u experience that or not. That y not using WD40 after that...

After cleaning with WD, while on main stand, engage the gear and let the rear tire spin a while to get rid of the excess before spraying with lube.

Now on Scottoiler. Lazy to clean the chain.... lol

I just got onto the Scottoiler train... anyway, one question to those using Scottoiler for a while, how do you tell you are at the ideal setting for the oilflow?
