Go for K&N... No doubts about it...

Now, I am back to Bangkok, and get a K&N Airfilter for my CB400SF. After it was installed to a bike. As befor, an accelertion take to long time to sattle. But with a K&N you can an accelertion immediatly, found that it is value to replace with a K&N.

hi all

is there other way to know the knn air filter is installed rather then remove the fuel tank? thx

try getting a pair of x-ray specs :giddy:

seriously, no other way of knowing it unless u remove the fuel tank and examine the air filter physically.

Can i ask u k&n air filter must wash n recharge at 10k km intervals rite..what's the diff between wash n recharge?

If we first time change to k&n air filter, must we do any kind of tuning of the carbs? Or adjust the air/fuel mixture screws?

Actaully I think KNN air filter is the best modification for S4, save money at the same increased perfromance....

Hmm can list out some of da brand ? STP got this product?

The product name is called Kreem, can only be imported from USA, It treats your rusty fuel tank and coat a layer of chemical and prevent it from rusting again.

Similar product is Por15 from USA, but more expensive and tedious to do, mainly to salvage already leaking fuel tank casue by rust.

Can look for Kreem in ebay USA.

Other alternative to prevent rust from going into your carb is to add a high flow fuel filter, bike with gravity fuel fed system may encounter bike choking or engine stalled, more apt for bikes with fuel pump.

I seldom read the Super forum, which explain why I took 1 month to reply. I'm riding a bandit400 so I'm mostly active in the bandit forum.

Just sharing some of my theoretical knowledge, after market filters dont really do much as a filter alone,to fully utilise its higher airflow,It has to compliment other mods like a full system n power commander or a modified header/stock muffler.

Results may vary as each engine/make/model is unique, the stock filter has *PROBABLY* been designed to match your stock fuel air settings as well as the exhaust flow,in event of a higher flow filter Mapped/jetted with a proportional fuel mixture, more exhaust mass will be produced, inorder to take full advantages of the higher flow filter, there is a need to decrease the back pressure,to increase the potential for exhaust mass flow..

like wise with exhausts too.The mapping MAY not get all the air it needs with a stock filter

However u dont have to buy a filter just for BHP performance, there are other advantages like being rewashable and finer filtering too :cheeky:

Please Correct me if i'm wrong, all my assumptions are mainly theoretical only

(also experimented 3 years ago on RVF with KNN and 2bros pipe no jetting, stock pipe n stock filter,no filter and 2bros/stock some how justified my theory)

-edited *PROBABLY*

Some of the users here may have experienced increase in performance,What i think is maybe your old filter is dirty, and has been inhabiting air flow for some time thus after changing u felt an improvement.

If not, then the stock filter hasn't been well designed to match the bike's potential or maybe the previous filter was a "chiong" 1!:thumb:

but i believe after u change the filter, it better to do some tuning, cos since the air flow have become more, should have more oil pump into it :cheeky:

Seem to be above is a true, I had in installed K & N for CB400 Yr.95 found that a acceleration is very good in term of response but it fule consumption very high.
