The problem with that is :

1) finding someone willing to wait at every turn alone in the middle of the nite for the last rider. :sian:

2) the lead riders may be going at 200++ km/hr. The last rider could be going at 120 km/hr.

In the interest of safety, we can't force the slower riders to go faster than they are comfortable. Then what? The lead riders might have to wait for a long time indeed at every junction.

It's difficult to set a speed for everyone, especially with riders of different skills, bikes and cc ...

Anyway, it's just a suggestion.

Well, my suggestion for touring groups has always been a division into a fast group and slow group.... based on both bike and rider factors.

Both group should each have at least one leader and one sweeper who knows the complete route. And in the absence of any "slower" bikes who know the route, then too bad.... volunteers from the fast group will be needed to lead and take care of the slow group.

Sacrifice the need for speed or thrills for the greater good. Anyway, the fast bikers can swap escorts at the next rest point. After all, no one should get left behind... struggle to keep up... and potentially crash out. It's a tour, not a race... and the target is zero incidents or accidents.

The idea is to let the slow group go first, and the fast group leave a bit later and catch up. So no one has to wait by the roadside in the blazing sun, or the danger or darkness.

Your suggested suspension set up results in suspension "Packing".

Its a very typical Teck Thye style.

You have already experience Packing if you are veer towards the mentioned set up.

You want your friends to be alive and kicking, not get them into trouble.....

wow... reli??

thks.. after 10 years of Packing den i know tat..

LOLz.. thks for ur info..mayb i'm the lucky one..

Believe me... i rather not have had that experience.

I busted my knee up somewhat and lost lots of skin... worst thing was it was still quite some distance inside JB deep in those trunk road areas... Lost my radiator pipe, all coolant gushed out, entire right side fairing torn off and holed, cracked the clutch cover... :giddy:

I was lucky that the rest of the guys managed to patch up my bike and got it running so I could ride it slowly (and painfully) back across customs... rather than have it towed.

One of the worst experiences I had riding in M'sia...

wonder where is alex31?

Hi all,

I am back. Just came back from a wedding dinner. I had just confirm that I won't be able to make it to the SBF event due to some reason. Sorry.

Btw, Indra had suggested that a makan outing to 2nd link.

Hope he will organise one soon.

Btw, I believe those ppl who wants to go fast during outing, pls go ahead to clear your carbon but just wait at the next toll, rather than asking the slow ones to go ahead first. I believe the slower ones will bound to have a bit of stress when starting off first & when the very fast ones zoom fast them, it is quite dangerous to me. Maybe they may hit one another if they are unlucky.

Hope I justify my point.

Alex.

Ouch! That hurts just reading it. Another reminder to wear protective gear & ride carefully. BTW, that's one hell of a Sex'mas song you've got there. Hope Santa won't bang you with his sleigh ! :help:

Still don't understand 'packing' but seems Nok is a satisfied Teck Tye customer.
