Hi Guys,

I rode home today and right after parking, noticed that brown liquid was pouring out. I traced it up to a liquid container which is somewhere on the right of the bike, under the rider's seat. Also heard sounds like the liquid was boiling. It is worrysome as it was substantially quite a lot of brown liquid that poured out of it (see attached photos).

Anyone knows what liquid it could be and also advise what I should do?

Also kindly share a good place to send RVF for servicing.

Much appreciated!

it look like the coolant is coming out..boiling over ..of your coolant reservoir.or the 'water body"..(the term used to describe the coolant that surround the engine for cooling it) or water jacket.

this is coolant liquid from your radiator.

get your bike check...as this may lead to overheating of your bike..

seizing of bike when overheated may result in expensive repairs.

this is a serious issue...

check...pour coolant to top up radiator/reservoir..run engine for a while???

if liquid still coming out ....get bike towed..for repairs.

if nothing happens...and temperature gauge is still read ok..nothing to worry about. but best still send for checking..or get yourr radiator flushed./serviced.

do it the earliest possible before you attempt to ride your bike.

if its coolant, it seems badly contaminated... anyway what's the mechanic view on your problem?

its coolant la.

brown because its badly contaminated. you probably need to flush the radiator with vinegar and water mix to get all the gunk out, then top it out with a fresh round of good coolant.

any vinegar will do? mix ratio water 8 : vinegar : 2?

personally i go 5:5. but it depends on how dirty or corroded the sh!t is.

do be warned though, if the radiator has been patched with silicone gasket or glue or any of those rubbery solutions, the vinegar might attack the sealant.

2 ways to do it. leave overnight or flush through fast. depends on severity la.

if you go for 8:2, then the lower concentration may be able to allow it to be left overnight to clean the radiator. if 5:5, i probably leave for 2 hours then flush and judge from there.

I guess reading Practical Sportsbike magazines do have its uses at times....

get the light vinegar ah, clear ones. not those dark vinegar. LOL. don't want your radiator to smell like ZHU JIAO CHU do we? haha.
