Hi guys,

I want to use an email client which lets me manage my emails, but with a mirror effect. For example, when i use Thunderbird or Outlook to manage my web-based email, when i delete, send and save. So in Thunderbird, whatever i do, it will mirror my actions in the webmail (gmail, hotmail) itself.

Normally, when i do this, what Thunderbird or Outlook does is that it downloads all the mail to my PC and when i delete the email, its gone from my PC, and whenever i log in back, but when i go to the webmail itself, the email is still there.

What i want is basically how to mirror my actions in the email management software (Thunderbird and Outlook) to my webmail (Hotmail and Gmail). I do not want anything to be downloaded to my PC. What i want basically is to access all my webmails, through Thunderbird or Outlook directly.Any ideas on programs i can use or settings within Thunderbird or Outlook?

Thanks.

EDIT: Yeah, i got it set up successfully through the IMAP config, but it only works for Gmail. Does it work for Hotmail? Can't get it to work.

1. You definitely need IMAP technology (which syncs what you do on your computer or mobile phone, like mark mails as read/opened/deleted -- to and from your Hotmail mailbox)

2. Unfortunately, Hotmail did not implement IMAP. So it's plain 'ol POP technology at the moment.

And the Hotmail team says POP is faster...don't ask me why

3. Workaround trickery :)

Yeah bro, thanks. Damn irritating ah this Hotmail. For years i thought there is no way to do it in Thunderbird, until i used Gmail and Imap on it. Kenna trolled by Microsoft only... :faint:
