wat to do... all do to show show only... where got time to followed up??? no sale, kenna scold... some more have to organized road trips... where got manpower to do all these mundane stuff..

Nothing will ever happen. Forget about follow up. That website put up just for show only. Keep quiet long enough and people will forget (or so they hope). Then life will be back as normal. That is uniquely Singapore!

how do you know is LTA not TP? were you there at the incident ? ...jokingly....

 

I remember seeing this on HDS webpage mths back. If they have not put this on their web & follow up . Most probably, everything will forgotten & let the issue passed. I see it still there when I was eyeing on a new softtail.

 

I believe HDS had attempted to safeguard the brand, welfare of HD rider and sovereignty of davidson that why they put in there. Probably, they may have done something.

LTA - Catch Mods and change of stock exhaust systems

 

TP - Catch speeding and safety issues

 

Check their number plates to know if they are LTA or TP.

Check uniform too as TP have a black belt across their white uniform.

 

The Rider/s who got booked have sorted their issues with LTA. Nothing can really be done since its a choice made by us riders to mod our exhaust system. Base on LTA rules, they can book someone even in a condo carpark as long as they have the reason to do so. Its just that they could have stopped their bike at the entrance of Harley Davidson so that such a big Whoo-Haaa wouldnt occur. Its just unfortunate that he booked the riders on open house event.

 

Its a choice we choose to have the rumble on our motorcycles. So we just have to bear in mind that we are all responsible for our actions.

and just to confirm where you got your facts that LTA can book someone in a condo(private property). My understanding is that TP/LTA has no jurisdiction on private property unless a life is threatened or crime is in progress, or have a court warrant to enter the property.

 

This applies to all statutory board, not only SPF.

Current TP uniform is the jacket designed by hongkee designer..

From a ex LTA officer. Questions were raised on this issue and he said that it is possible that the officer enter Komoco and did the booking. He also mentioned that even if its in a condo, and he has a valid reason to enter because he was tailing a vechicle, he should have solid ground to enter on the sole purpose of getting that particular vehicle. This was what i was told.

 

The LTA Officer could have played it down by stopping outside and walking in. But the officer was very nice and told the other riders that he was only after the two riders he spotted on the road, tried to stop them but guess they didnt realise.

 

I guess if not, all of us can use a condo or private property as a shield for our mods and speeding. Get caught, just speed off and hide in private property carparks.

 

Most of these officers are alright. Its the attitude we present to them that matters.

if basing on the above scenario, no doubts about it as the officer was discharging his duties.

 

but if the vehicles were already in the compound prior to his arrival, and not on public roads yet, he/she has no jurisdiction to enter and summon.

 

and even so, there's no need to even enter the compound. licence plate is required to be visible. all the officer needs to do is just note down and send a love letter to the owner and request him/her to go for inspection. everybody happy..

 

but then again, those LTA on-the-roads now are no longer TPs posted on-tour to LTA.. most if not all are new-birds whom just got the power to stop vehicles.. all eager to perform..

Everyone here wants an answer from this incident when it does not involve us. So I am just curious about what do we really want out of this. Or are we just hoping that the law will bend for Harley riders only!

 

Take a few secs and think about what I just asked and try to figure out what do we really think we can get at the end.

 

I already have the answer like most of our riders who have sat back and really thought about it carefully.

The Singapore Traffic Police and the Singapore Road Safety Council will be organising the Singapore Ride Safe 2012 on Saturday, 28th July 2012 at ITE College West from 8.30am to 12.30pm. We aim to instill safe riding habits and skills to the participants through a series of activities.

If you run a business, this is all about brand management and damage control....

They have brand like screaming eagles...and gone through stringent emission and various test in states.....

I beleive they would want to instill confident on their products and not allowing a potential buyer like to worrry ...like me....if get screaming eagles and be nabbed by the authority here...

 

again these is all about damage control and brand management.....dont your feel that they should be doing something as business runner here?
