Question Regarding QP, COE for 2nd hand motorcyle purchase

I am looking for 2nd hand motorcycle and I have been reading articles and posted motorcycle for sale here. This will be my first motorcycle just converted my license with class 2b.

 

Can someone explain regarding QP (Quota Premium) posted on 2nd hand motorcycles, should I pay for this amount + the asking price? Also should I bid for COE since I think COE is not transferable?

The QP is the price paid for COE at the time of purchase for that motorcycle.

 

COE goes along with the vehicle. That piece of paper gives it a 10year (or 5, if renewed as such) lifespan from the time the QP was paid.

 

No, you do not need to pay the QP + asking price. Asking price generally already includes the QP.

 

 

That is unless you have some arrangement with a motorcycle shop to pay the PQP to renew a motorcycle license on a 2nd hand bike.
