To all riders of Z1000 had anyone of you replace the rear shocks to ohlins? How much improvement you get comparing to the original crappy shock? Thanks.

Hi,

Since u said its original is a crappy shock. Then the more u should change it.

I always believe in sus & brake performance rather than raw power performance.

Agree totally with James70. Your suspension and brakes should be on the top of your "must upgrade" list.

Skip movies and outings if that's what it takes to save up for the upgrade. Just do it!

if you find the full suspension to expensive to change, 1st upgrade the spring alone(harder spring) and see how it feels... if improves your handling, keep it.... if not get the full suspension..... ohlins is not the only suspension you must have.... there are others like Bitubo and Penske which are just as good and cheaper too.... personally i've Penske on my Fazer and it has made so much difference to the handling of the bike....

the spring was too soft for my weight and worse with a pillon.... i've tried many different different setting but because of my weight, the bike dived under hard braking .... this is very scary in a sharp corner.... 1st I just thought of changing the spring on the front and back.... but since I intended to keep the bike for at least 5 yrs or more.... i went with the full suspension upgrade on both the front(reworked fully) and changed the rear to Penske 2 way adjustment model which a spring rating the suits my weight....

the only downside to the Ohlins shock is that the spring rating is standard for all models... but i believe its an overrated and over-priced brand in S'pore....

firstly, does Showa dual shock absorbers that were fit to CB400 can fit to the 1993 Zephyr 750? is it reliable?

and last question is, what's is the normal price for those type of brands (that fits to zephyr 750) ?

I've search it in this forum and couldnt find it.
