First time here so pls redirect me to the correct forum.

1) Do I have to take Basic theory test and rider theory test separately or is it concurrent?

2) Are there private instructors for class 2b? As far as I am concerned there isnt but pls confirm for me.

3) Is it possible to register class 3 at one driving centre but class 2 at another? Reason being my parents dont like me to drive bike. But I want to do it without getting caught.

What do you think? Anyone here with parents that dont allow u to bike? :sian:

1 - Yes both are different. But if you're going to take class 3 within the same time frame BTT will come along eitherway. As far as I know, based on what I went through at SSDC (not sure if its the same for other driving centres), you have to attend the theory lessons, then trial practices, trial test THEN book RTT which takes about 2 months.

During this time you can take the circuit orientation lesson and apply your 2b PDL (can be tgt with your class 3 PDL) then begin your Practical lessons whilst waiting for RTT.

Besides this, if you're in SSDC (not sure about CDC or BBDC if they also have this..) you'll have to take another 3 theory lessons (defensive riding theory). Once you completed all your prac lessons, RTT, theory lessons and such, you can book TP.

2 - No such thing as private instructors for 2b...as far as I know.

3 - Yes, should not be a problem. I did both together but at the same place thoough. Can save money by apply 2b and class 3 PDL at the same time.

I was also worried about my parent's objections. I took lessons and passed 2b without them knowing then tried to figure out how to convince them after that. Maybe this link can help you haha.

I had a friend who wanted to hide from his parents and he managed to do so for a few months...until road tax letter came and his dad saw :D Much harder to explain or convince when you're caught. :\

No private intructors for 2b, my parents objected me riding bike too. But I used my own money to get the license and bike, so they can't say anything. Just have to endure their nagging only...

Hi,

How much did it cost to take the license and what year was it taken?

If I rent a bike, where will be a good place to start?

I dont intend to buy my bike, maybe just rent 1 and drive in bolehland once a month or something like that.

Like that wouldnt get caught by parents right?

The cost more or less depends on you. Sometimes you can clear the lesson in one go, someones cannot. Also depends on how many revision lessons you choose to take before your actual test and whether you pass the first time or have to repeat.

Rent bike..not sure. Check shop directory?

Your parents don't allow or is it you haven't asked because you assume they'll be against it?

If you're really desperate to ride and don't wanna buy your own bike..go work as a dispatch rider for those companies with their own bikes lo.

Can you elaborate? If I just get the class 2b license but dont buy a bike, then do I have to pay the insurance?

Rent also need pay insurance?

Most important why they send it to my house? That is what I am afraid of?

Insurance is if you do buy a bike. Because to buy a bike, besides the bike itself + COE, you need insurance (at least 3rd party), road tax..etc. If you don't buy bike then don't need la :D

If your parents don't allow you to bike will you still do it? For me, I just did it because it's something I know I really want. So it's up to you. At the end of the day, your parents can only advise you. Of course, everything must be self paid. :p
