hi guys,

 

me newbie looking for bike. Saw a guy selling his FP plate SP for ard 2k then another guy selling his FQ plate for 2.2k. you guys think its a reasonable price? please advise cos i not sure of mkt price also.....FP plate is abt 5 years old bike rite.....is it ok to get such a bike? but need to ask cos me on a tight budget....

Hello all,i have visit this shop the mechcanic told me my valve cant open fully due to the collection of carbon inside...He qoute me ard $80 to take out the block n clear the carbon...

Wish to koe abt the market price b4 went dw 4 my servicing...

They are trying to chop you. $80 can almost do full servicing including carb tuning, clear carbon, check electronics, recharge batt, bleed brakes, change coolant liao.

 

Anyway SP you can try a progressive way to clear the carbon. That means don't one shot try to rev to redline. Slowly increase over a few days, like today I aim to hit 7k, then travel for a while. Then tomorrow 7.5k like that. One shot you might damage your valve.

I bought my FU SP for 4k. That sounds ex. But I got new piston rings (almost $100), new paintwork ($300+), full servicing (almost $100). So the bike actually cost me about $3600 only.

Haha, no need go so far, 2nd link after you clear SG custom can liao. Sure clear carbon. Plus nice sea breeze and scenary! :smile: NSH got a speed traps, not very safe ah.

 

Anyway I am not really "experienced" lah. I gather info from various sources and then use that to help others nia. Most of the advice I give are given to me by others. Of course I will only pass on sensible and proven advice lah...

Hi guys....I've a original SP pipe and a non-original SP pipe, i've tong the non-original pipe, but i can't see the performance much..Juz felt abit smoother, ermm...can't felt the performance? Why? Izzit becoz of the pipe is not original? Thanks alot! ^^

wads carb tuning guys ? i brought my sp since nov 6 ...never tune anithing b4 leh, change tyres n chain b4 onli. curb tuning important ? neither did i do carb washing or valve cleaning.. is tat important oso ?

dat time told u liao...u got to check if dat non-original pipe is wad pipe...cos not all pipes fits on SP...as in...Arrow Pipes may be good on RS...but its totally useless when fitted on SP...understand??:sweat:

if u feel dat e bike power is still dere and nothing wrong with it..jus live on with it...but normally...other riders will bring their bike for a full service once they buy e bike for awhile...if u tink its time...den bring ur bike for a full service...and everything will be smoother...:cheer:

Thankz 4 advice...

It simply means opening ur valve.. SP's valves opens ard 7K.. so when the rpm reaches 7K, u will notice the sound change from the exhaust...

 

open ur valve regularly is good. take a rubber band as an example. if u leave the rubber band on the table for a few months and didn't stretch it, it will break easily.. same for the valves..
