Anyway , if sg wants ppl to stop smoking , they should impose a ban like chewing gum i bet that'll work . And sg will be smoke free !

 

then our road tax , bus fare , petrol etc etc will fly sky high :giddy:

Hi guyz, where do you all service or "doll up" your SP in AGL? Which shop? Recently i went to this shop (Hou Heng) in Agl. Is it good or the price competitive? Or which shop is better?

lean = better throttle response. but risk overheating. but i don't know why.

 

rich = "laggy" throttle response. more bogging. more carbon. but safer.

 

there's a saying "to err on the rich side". mechs usually set bikes to be slightly richer, so as to cover their asses. too lean and the piston may jam.

 

you can tell the richness or leaness by looking at sparkplug tip. here's a website that will tell you what is rich or lean. http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Spark_Plugs_catalog.html

the general rule is a spark plug tip that has carbon deposits is rich, while showing white or brown is lean.

 

why lean u get good throttle response? becos there is alot of air to complete combustion. why overheat? becos alot of complete combustion produces alot of heat! if u are running lean, it is not so significant at lower rpm ranges, but trust me u can smell the chao tar smell if u hold the rpm above 9000rpm for prolonged periods of time, say 15-20minutes.

 

rich is just the exact opposite

oh yeah, if you notice, most of your bikes have better response in the night.

 

why? it is because the air is cold, making combustion easier if you're running slightly rich. why is it so? i don't know either! hahah!

well , we frequent xing hock more but hou heng's also good i think ... i donno .. never went there b4 .. most of the time is xing hock for me .. lol ..

 

doll up your SP , you can head 30m down agl and you'll see AGL's LAB , go there to pimp your ride .

Any 1 going in AGL tonite?? i wanna do some minor servicing of my bike.... btw i still prefer xing hock... but as for pimping ur ride i will either go JB LAB or Kok Seng...

 

THumbs up for kok seng for solving my brake problems when i fix my new footrest and than wifout charging me any money...

my run in .. is cannot run above 120km.. but how abt the RPM ? cannot drag above 6 when in 3rd gear above izzit?

many pple got different theories on how to do a good run in. my way is to just keep the RPM under 7k.

beacuse of physics, if you remember what your teacher taught in school

(bet you were sleeping thru class or you weren't even in class :lol: )

 

hot air expands and cold air contracts

cold air contains more oxygen molecules per se in a given volume of air.

 

ie. when it is cold the engine takes in a larger amount of air in the same volume, which means a larger corresponding amount of oxygen. more air = more oxygen = more combustion = more power

 

that forms the basis of the turbocharger and intercooler for cars.
