Very informative. Thanks.. Learnt quite a bit from this post.

So I think mine is normal. Talking about 2T, normally how to gauge when to pump now? Though there is an indiciator, but some say that better dun wait till the indiciator lights up. So now i running for almost 2k, (including the previous owner). So around how much more to up the 2T?

And because I dun know what brand of 2T the previous owner pump, he say $8 type, if got alot of white smoke, he uses the $12 ones. So is it okie to mix 2T? Or keep it as constant as possible?

Anyway after reading the posts, I feel that my SP is running normal miledge range, and I follow the advise stated to ramp at 3rd gear to clear the carbon. :)

No prob. This forum was meant for sharing. Like Slize said, its not too difficult to open up and check. If you can't see the 2t level clearly, shake the bike back and forth a bit, you'll see the 2t level tilt and you can then better gauge the level. SSDC instrctor taught me to check fuel tank level by shining a torch into the tank. You can use the light from handphone to shine into the 2t to see remaining level also. Dun use lighter hor

To me 2t is all the same la. Mid end range 2t serves me well. Only on NSH then i will use 2t gold for better high temperature lubrication. But to each his own. I find that Sg riding 2t gold produces more smoke, it may because its too thich and under-used. The right amount of lubrication should be properly combusted without leaving too much carbon emitted from your pipe. Do lube your chain once a week or 2 weeks now that you want to drag gear, to protect the chain and sprocket.

Decide for yourself the riding style you like. For me, i shiok shiok pull 3rd 4th gear and PEHHHH around. Lol... Its not about comsumption or clear carbon. Its just i feel like it and enjoy my ride. Cheers :cheer:

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Hey guys, other than the wheel balancing question I have.. Another question that I have is:

My ERP unit is currently mounted under the windscreen, (Previous owner) And the windscreen is cracking liao. So I want to know where can be the best place to mount this unit, without cracking the fairings, or the windscreen?

go buy a metal bracket and mount it on the metal bars that support the front of your bike.

eh u should just DIY cause they will charge u man. not worth it. it takes 15 mins

japsm: eh it wun affect your bike if u turned off the ignition and left the headlight on cause as guoren said there is no electricity going thru. but it is a good practice to turn off the headlights before starting your bike. it will save alot of battery in the long run.

yup. i noe dat part of the expressway. for bikes we will have no problem negotiating dat couple of quick bends, but when following behind a car just becareful.. they tend to slow down first..

hi guys, izzit important to turn the fuel switch to off when u park ur bike?

supposedly it is good for your bike but i think that unless u have to leave your bike there for a long period then best to turn it off.

if u are leaving it there for more than 2 days it is best to turn off and pull your throttle until the engine dies. that would drain out the fuel in your carb.

Posted

japsm: hmm.. maybe ur spark plug needs to be changed. or if u wan to start more easily, pull the choke and start.

happiness_1911: its not important lah, its advisable dat u put the fuel switch to off. this is to prevent ur carb from overflowing if ur float spoil or wat.

means, when u turn the knob to OFF, petrol from the tank will stop entering the carb.

but there will still be remaining petrol left in the carb...

so, to clear off the petrol in the carb, turn the knob to off, and rev ur bike till ur engine dies, means theres no more petrol in the carb...

Hey guys,

Today I had a weird encounter with my bike.

Was moving along smoothly, then suddenly bike died just like that.

Quickly moved to the nearest curb.

Switch on headlight still very bright, means got batt.

Neutral light not dim at all, means got batt.

Check petrol, which i just pumped ytd, and is still quite full.

Tried to start again but to no avail.

Tried using the choke and start but also no diff.

Rested for around 10mins, just thinking abt what happened. Then I try to start again, then the bike started. Rev'ed abit, then quickly put on my helmet and but by the time I put on, bike died again. But luckily this time, easily started then proceeded towards school again.

Anyone encounter sudden death like mine before?

Any comments?

Anyone knows what happened?

Thanks in advance.
