1000 on your mileage means 1000km

for fully synthetic engine oil, change every 5000km, semi synthetic change around 3000km, this is just a guide, once you are experienced then you can gauge yourself

actually its quite normal for sp to have alot white smoke...especially when you just started the bike...usually when bike is warmed up the smoke will be lesser...

i suggest u pay a visit to one of those motordiams which got help pple to bring bikes for inspection one

white smoke is a si bei troublesome thing

to solve it...u may need to spend a tidy sum of money as white smoke can be caused by too many factors liao

anyway whacking at gear1 and 2 doesnt help when it comes to inspection centre

cause when the inspector test...he doesnt whack yr bike...he maintain the RPM at ard 3-4k only

and lord and behold! u can be surprised by the amt of smoke he can squeeze outta yr bike!

:giddy:

accompanied my friend for inspection for his kips before

personally witnessed for myself....and some of those inspectors can be quite stringent when it comes to white smoke

but as bro zlord mentioned...after bike warm up smoke will be lesser or totally gone in some cases

but once u cut off yr engine and start bike again then smoke come back already

so when my inspection is due nxt year february...shall try to geh siao dont cut off my engine when i reach the inspection centre and let the guy test...

or else...ill hafta resort to asking motordiam to help me bring the bike for inspection liaoz...means muz pay $$ alsoz

hrmz

things in the future very hard to see

but i guess more or less there will still be SPs ard on the road by then lar...hehe

juz like we still c TZRs on the roads nowaadays marhz

if by then hard to find spare parts...then maybe change bike liao lor

the value of SP now more or less has stablise already...so depreciation per year wont be that high...after riding for 4-5years...u may make a loss of say $1k due to depreciation...but the $1k will compensate for the amt of money u would be spending on public transport if u dont own a bike instead one lorz

or if u think SP no longer in production still worries u....perhaps can consider getting a RR or kips~~

using esso low smoke and shell 98

according to mechanics

white smoke is due to uncombusted 2T

so lowering the 2T intake of the bike may help to reduce the amt of white smoke produced

however...sometimes white smoke can also be due to built up carbon in yr exhaust pipe etc...

so like i said...white smoke is very troublesome thingy....hard to pin point which part of the bike is at fault

anyway those 2T which claim to be low smoke...in my opinion...are more or less bluff one~
