Sorry guys, may I ask this question here? Especially the one in BLUE. I'm riding a TA150.

1. Anybody knows what the black box after the carb do? Pls see pic

http://www.pbase.com/image/32453609/medium.jpg bigger pics can be viewed at http://www.pbase.com/snowparang/misc

2. This 'box of mine has a crack as shown, everytime start can hear hissing sound.

http://www.pbase.com/image/32453708/original.jpg

The crack starts from the securing bolt. Wanted to remove the bolt and apply silicone (advise by ah koon) but the the rear nut was rounded! kns, too bad. Cleaned the area (oil stains, most prob 2T) and started the bike...hands itchy so go and use fingers to stop the crack. Then realise that actually air is being SUCKED in...best thing is after I closed the crack, the engine slowly died... hmm...

Tried again and same thing happens. So questions:

a. what is the box for? Hazard a guess? There's no other inlet or valve, just a empty container connected to the pipe transporting the fuel/air mixture from carb to engine.

b. is it good (performance vs consumption) for air to enter at this stage. Explain using fuel/air ratio?

c. SP riders if any, do you have such a box? Is it bigger or smaller?

d. IS THIS WHERE I CONNECT RAM AIR OR EVEN NOS?!?!?! :thumb:

Tks!
