when i first got my wheels, every morning simply needed a single kick to start. now it needs 1-2 kicks unless the engine is already warm. maybe the engine is getting old and in need of full service. i don't know-i've never brought it in for thorough checkup or full service before.

1 thing i would like to share with people with oxidized engine external surface, peek a can of wd40 or aerosol lubricant under the fairing and lightly coat. that way rain simply slides off without doing anymore rust/oxidation damage. disadvantage is wd40 drys off after a few days in hot weather.

anyone knows the answer to my post above? if not i shall bring it in for a full checkup soon. more money leaving my pockets

when i first got my wheels though it was a 2nd hand 4 yrs old SP, also like u, one time can start in e morning without choke

now oso muz kick a few times with choke which is good cos i need to excercise my legs

u wont find much probs unless it has been severely abused by e previous owner

hey guys... anyone know places in singapore that provides bike washing service? good and reasonable price? got sick of washing my bike and get dirt all over... my sp is mostly white somemore... get dirty super easily...

another thing... u guys know the matt silver parts for sp (the body, footrest holders, etc) how to make it look like new again if its stained with light spots like corrosion like that?

Yoz guys... i juz got my nsr sp today..hahaha.. so happy.. finally got my bike le..

btw.. the tire is in stock condition wor.. issiz dangerous?? heard tat it is slippery rite??

and hoR.. i newbie mah.. got anything to look out for while riding my bike?? and how to take care of my bike huh?? hehehe... thank thanks..=)

1st...check yr 2T level...

then as u get used to yr bike

send it for minor servicing after 1-2weeks juz to make sure everything is is proper condition

 

change engine oil & spark plug

ask the mechanic to check the chain tension and brakepad wear etc for u

while he's doing the checking for u...observe how he does it....

learn and do it yrself nxt time

anyone uses yoshimura footrests? my toe peg (rubber coated steel rod for toes) fell out

and i need replacement. (champagne gold color)

then remember to bring yr P plates to the motordiam if applicable when u collect bike

Ya.. went to buy in NTUC in the afternoon liao.. tml need pump petrol at BP 1st... because the shop nv provide petrol.. only giv me the amount enough to reach the nearest petrol station.. sianz.. which fuel is good for SP? shell 98 good enough?

i always tot RR is 4 stroke...

 

can ani 1 confirm wif me whether its 4 or 2 stroke?

it's 2 stroke wat...wat makes u tink it's a 4 stroke when the smoke coming out from behind has that similiar smell as everyother 2 stroke bikes?

by looking at the pipe,u will noe it's a 2 stroke or 4 stroke cos both r built in a different way due to their engines...

so what r the spots caused by??

dried up rain water?

or corroded? if corroded then u will see deep brown rust stains

anyway u can try doing a search for one of those bike washing service threads

i've seen it ard before

i kind of remembered among the list there's SHELL near to queensway shoppping centre

not too sure if they still providing the bike wash service now thou

anyway white bike is like that one lor...need more effort

for yr metallic parts...can try using metal polish to make it look shiner lor
